they should've put you down for being a fucking faggot.

you don't put down a dog for being agressive, you train it.

unless you mean the dog went full crazy (big eyes, too much saliva, not recognizing anyone, etc) because of a disease or brain damage

I don't like most small dogs because they're usually territorial little assholes, so I assumed the same thing. But not everyone seems to think this dog's being a shit, so I rewatched it twice to be sure.

After rewatching, I still don't think this dog's just playing.
My dog acts similarly when I play with her and get her really worked up. She gets all rigid and alert when I've got my hand near her. Then if I make a sudden movement she bites at it or barks. I get a lot of bruises on my arms, and scrapes from her claws, but she never breaks the skin. And she's a lot bigger than this little dog.
The only time she's actually hurt me, she stopped immediately and licked the area. I've never actually seen a dog do that before.
That's what a playing dog acts like. Very similarly to this one.

However, there's two main differences in the two dogs' behaviour. This dog is starting to snarl and show it's teeth. It doesn't bare them completely, but you can see several times the jowls twitch up in a mini-snarl. Other dogs (as far as I know) don't do that when playing. Snarling or showing teeth is generally a really bad sign in dogs. I've only seen my dog snarl at anyone once - and that was when my niece pulled her tail too hard and hurt her. She's usually really good with the kids. My niece was punished. So was the dog for snarling, because we don't want her learning that it's ok to be aggressive towards people in any way.
Most dogs also wag their tails when they're playing. Even when they're playfighting. This dog doesn't wag its tail at all. If you see a dog on the street and it's not wagging its tail, its a good idea to stay away.

I don't like this dog.

its fine. my dog does this too. its because he's ever so slowly moving his hand towards her so she thinks its a game. if he were to just reach in and grab it she wouldnt behave like this.

If the dog was actually being aggressive, it would be baring its teeth.

This is a sort of game that you can play with a dog without it being badly trained.

Eh, my dog sometimes shows his teeth while playing. Then harmlessly nibbles your hand and rolls into you. One thing I noticed when he is seriously uncomfortable is when his back hair stands up, then I know he isn't playing around. Never does that to me of course, but when he gets nervous around hyper dogs.

Doggo is playing. My dog is a medium sized dog and she plays rough also, she'll "play bite" where she puts her mouth around your hands, but she never actually bites You have to train that out of them, and when she did when we first got her it was never skin breaking, what pups would consider playful. You can also see the dog look excited and playful when the camera actually gets a good angle of it.

I think a lot of that is called "mouthing" and I find it adorable. When I come home my dog squeels in happiness and when I sit down he jumps up to lick my face, then he will mouth my arm and roll around. No actual bites of course. When we play he does this adorable nibble of my arms too like eating a corn cob, barely making contact. Horrible training, I know.
#56 - anon (08/24/2016) [-]
Exact same for my dog, she'll also growl like crazy during it but when she actually gets you, she lightly bites you like a small squeeze then lets go.

#4 - mortolife (08/24/2016) [-]
I'm at least 90% sure that those are just playful nips and yipping, not angry snapping. My dog does the same thing whenever I play with him and I've not been harmed yet.
User avatar
#61 - lean (08/24/2016) [-]
>>#59, >>#23, >>#29, >>#5, Regardless of why, dog is being territorial about possessions and nipping at the intruder. That's not a trait you want in a pet. You curb that shit right away. That dog isn't mouthing or play biting, it is defensive. Even if it isn't angry. You might think it's all fun and games, but wait until the neighbor's kid walks between your dog and his dog bowl. All the sudden the kid has a torn up ear and you have a lawsuit.

There's a big difference between a well trained dog and one you finally got to sit when you shout at it.
User avatar
#64 - mortolife (08/24/2016) [-]
That's the thing though, I can't speak for this dog in particular, but mine doesn't get that way outside of playtime, and it's only after I get him worked up and really playing. Otherwise, I can take his food dish from him while he's in the middle of eating and he just looks at me all confused. I just assumed because of the similarities in behavior between this dog and my own, that this one is just playing as well.
#65 - lean (08/24/2016) [-]
Playing is a big step from territorial though. It could have something to do with proximity to the owner (the one who has legs on either side of dog bed) or another reason that isn't clear, but the dog is 100% defensive. Rigid, still posture until the guy gets close; not moving from it's position, and there are a couple shots where it is definitely baring teeth, it's just harder to see because poofball hair.

Dogs don't always growl either, nor is growling a sure fire warning. Rigid body posture isn't a good sign, even if you are playing. Dogs are often trained not to growl because owners associate it with biting/ aggressiveness, but typically growling is a dog's first warning that something is bothering/ stressing it.
#16 - DrollHumor (08/24/2016) [-]
Its not baring its teeth or snarling very aggressively. Like the dog in the gif is, at his alien limb.

I'd say it's just playing as well, and the dude is overreacting for the sake of the video.
