I don't think you know what "landwhale" means. The taxonomy is different for different degrees of fatties.

Landwhales eclipse the sun and cause earth quakes

They are constantly screaming muh privilege and unable to walk more than ten steps unaided. The thing in my picture and anything bigger is a genuine landwhale.

The girl in the comp is more along the lines of a small ham planet or even just a fatty. Hell if she wanted she could run with no problem.
#209 - John Cena (03/16/2015) [-]
If her weight starts with 'two hundred' I've got bad news for you son.
User avatar #213 - elcreepo (03/16/2015) [-]
The woman in your picture is likely near or above 200 and in my opinion, not that hot. I'm not into muscles on women, makes them look manly imo

Muscle also makes you weigh a lot

Anyway above 200=ham planet range, above 150=fatty range. Above 250 and you're in the landwhale range. Usually though a landwhale is defined as a literal sphere of fat rather than a still humanoid figure

I'm not sure how to respond to this. If you're making a personal attack please focus on the issue. Come up with some articles that can refute thyroid conditions or something.

If you have credibility on your own over this issue It's a bit hard to prove online while staying anon, but such is life. You are free to prove any credibility you might have, but as you said i could simply call bullshit on it. So you know what we do in those cases? We go to our trusty friend google, and look for some credible sources from credible institutions. I have yet to see any of them and as such am still assuming that you are blindly accepting the political banter about it.

Also, yeah, *if* she uses the same amount of energy. But basal metabolic rate isn't fixed; it changes based on a shitton of factors, including temperature, caloric intake, amount and type of exercise, amount of sleep, stress levels, etc. An endocrine issue like hypothyroid directly affects the metabolism. It changes how much energy your body uses.
#125 - John Cena (03/14/2015) [-]
Sorry, man. The biology is tricky here. Fundamentally, yes, calories in/calories out. The thing is that different types of food are metabolized differently and all of that has to do with a myriad of factors including activity level, genetics and pathology.

Example: if you have Type I Diabetes you can eat whatever the fuck you want, all day, every day, and you won't gain weight. What will happen is that your blood glucose levels will raise incredibly high and you'll eventually die from complications due to chronic hyperglycemia and/or you'll starve to death. Why would that happen if you're putting in plenty of calories? Because your body doesn't produce insulin naturally, so all of those calories just float around in your blood not doing anything productive and then get excreted.

There are other conditions, including thyroid and other endocrine issues that affect the way calories are stored, burnt, or wasted. Having one of those conditions isn't necessarily a guarantee that you're going to be fat, it just means you have to work harder than somebody without those conditions; you have to take medication and develop the willpower to eat clean and force yourself to go to the gym even when you feel like you have no energy.

tl;dr: calories in / calories out is a gross oversimplification of human metabolism.

You need calories to get energy. If you already have an issue with producing energy by burning calories don't you think that might cause a bit of an issue regardless of how much you eat?

Look I get it. Some people hide behind it as an excuse, but if there is an actual relation I would at least want you to do your research on it. That's what seperates us from that side of tumblr we all mock.
#64 - wpaige (03/14/2015) [-]
No energy = dead. She uses energy in everything she does. If she eats less, she's still using the same amount of energy, and will lose weight. Those calories she uses to get her fat ass out of bed have to come from somewhere, whether it be her rolls or the shit she stuffs in her mouth.
#129 - John Cena (03/14/2015) [-]
