Dodger's Blue. I liked another shade (I forgot what it's called), but it's a little to white. I might give it a shot, with my next colored text though.

Thread was so long I couldn't reply so I am coming here lol.

If you want to be a journalist, I would really suggest Air Force or Navy.
They are more education and technologically centered.
Military is all different by branch, the Army and Marines you pick a field and are given a job in the field. There is a reserve system, but it is only for high school seniors with very high grades, etc. Marines you pick a field and are handed a random job in that field and then when the time comes, they can change your job when they want and you are sent to a more dangerous area, but all Marines have to do it, it is a deployment. You may have Aviation Mechanic job, but it will be changed when they decide to deploy you and you'll be given a rifle and go into a dangerous area, or at least a more dangerous area.
Air force you choose 5 jobs and they try getting them on priority, but you usually end up getting your second or third choice.
In the Navy, you don't choose anything, you go to MEPS, they ask you what job you're interested in, and they give you 2-5 different jobs to pick from that pool. I got Advanced Electronics and Computer field, but applied for Nuclear Engineer and got picked for it.
I also do love movies, I am trying to write a book, and I have many screenplay ideas, but never have time to do anything with them. I used to be big in drama. Been in a few plays, etc.
#137 to #136 - woodenalligator (04/06/2014) [-]
That's all very helpful, really. When I get to that point, of deciding if I want to join military, all of that will be a big part in which branch to go into. What are some ideas you have, or plays you've been in? What's the book going to be about?
#138 to #137 - welfarekid (04/06/2014) [-]
Last notion on military unless you ask about it more, Navy does deploy too, and of course in a time of war there is risk of being sank ( but same for pilots in the airforce and ground troops in marines and army) But deployment for the navy is typically 6 months or so and you hop from country to country on little missions (typically not dangerous) and you get to experience the world.

I have lost many of my ideas, there was one about some kids who fake their deaths to become "famous" by getting "hit by train", and there is one about my personal life. I was a person who kind of envied the underbelly of society and it is mainly about the party, but one that captures the emotional toll it takes on a kid. (It was almost like a commune really lol, but we called ourselves the Do work posse)
I was in M*A*S*H, A christmas carol, The Suessical (gay as hell), Alice the musical, Almost Maine, did tech for Narnia and Complete Works of Shakespeare abridged,
#140 to #138 - woodenalligator (04/06/2014) [-]
Damn dude, you've done a lot! I especially think you should write about your time in the Navy, because we get a lot of stylized films and things now, but yours could be like a normal (however normal it can be, huh?) look on it.
#141 to #140 - welfarekid (04/06/2014) [-]
I was thinking about that, there aren't many Navy movies except for about SEALS taking out pirates.
#142 to #141 - woodenalligator (04/06/2014) [-]
Yeah, or the Zero Dark Thirty. But those are all the big crazy stories, and getting the fact on what it's like to just be a part of such things is cool. Like, Full Metal jacket, though it was mostly fictitious, was kind of like that for Marines. I also think you writing about the love letters, or making a narrative out of them, would be something really amazing.
#143 to #142 - welfarekid (04/06/2014) [-]
It will be a good story, I know I have not totally started but I have read all the letters, there were a lot.
Jar Head was a good movie too, it was marines.
Or the end of watch, but that was inner city police.
What are your ideas, or screenplay you're working on.
(You don't have to get too into detail, I am sketchy about letting people know my ideas)
#144 to #143 - woodenalligator (04/06/2014) [-]
I'd like to red it or hear about as you work on the book. As for me, I mostly have comedy ideas for TV shows- like a work place comedy in as Suicide Hotline (that one's always a touchy topic with people, haha), or a Romantic comedy in WWII Germany, Adolf Finds Love, where Hitler falls in love with a Jewish woman in a concentration camp. One that I've been working on recently is kind of a meta film inspired by the movie Adaptation, using my life in the past few months as the plot.
#145 to #144 - welfarekid (04/06/2014) [-]
I take it you've been in a rough spot? Care to explain or not? I understand either way.
I like the workplace comedy one. Hitler one is strange lol.
#146 to #145 - woodenalligator (04/06/2014) [-]
Some friends have thought the same about the Suicide Hotline and Hitler ones, haha. And I haven't exactly been in any bad situations, looking at a larger scale. But through the eyes of a teenager, things are seen as bigger or more important (but most people see things that happen to them as important, eh?). It was more about how I like this girl at my new school, and we're friends. I wrote a couple episodes of a script about my life at the school, kind of to tell her how I feel, basically, but also because I think it's some funny ideas there. But the movie is the story of me doing those scripts, as well as having parts where it's just like, every day kind of, but also be writing the movie that this movie is. (that's where the whole thing was mostly inspired by Adaptation). I was thinking it'd be a kind of teenage thing too, like a view on how they see things as bigger than they are, but also having it dramatized so the story is bigger than it was, I guess? I can probably try and explain better...
#147 to #146 - welfarekid (04/06/2014) [-]
I am 18 I understand completely, I was 16 and everything seemed like a big deal and little things had a huge impact.
I am graduating going into the military, those are big things to worry about (But still little compared to things that affect everyone)
I just broke up with my girlfriend of 4 months who was 16, she worried about little **** that didn't matter. Always fabricating things in her head, she was focused on prom, I was focused on life. I said we're in too different worlds and she was too immature and I dumped her.
#149 to #147 - woodenalligator (04/06/2014) [-]
That is pretty reasonable on why to break up with someone. If you find that you or them just aren't working towards similar things in a relationship, then it is most likely best. I've never had a girlfriend, but I wouldn't want one that I couldn't see eye to eye at least on most things, or that I couldn't joke around with and such.
#150 to #149 - welfarekid (04/06/2014) [-]
plus I don't think she really liked me I think she just lusted. I think she was thirsty as hell, cause that's what she told one of my friends.
#151 to #150 - woodenalligator (04/06/2014) [-]
Oh, that too is not a good foundation for a relationship, then. Having time away/to travel will be good, then, yes? Having a girlfriend doesn't have to be the focus, although I can see it being something of importance when I am older (because it is now, I've always liked girls, haha.). I think sometimes it's odd that I kind of feel like I have more serious ideals of relationships than other people my age, which is weird, because I can't really get behind the whole idea of just going out with someone for sex or whatever.
#152 to #151 - welfarekid (04/06/2014) [-]
me either, I typically want to really feel connected and my girlfriend before the last I still think of from time to time, but we were kind of together on and off for a year or so, an we still talk and flirt a bit, but she is a tricky one.
#153 to #152 - woodenalligator (04/06/2014) [-]
I see. It was probably for the better though, mate. That's one of the reasons I'm kind of working at trying to change (probably not the best word, but it's "complicated", so change/make will have to do) my friend Kelly's view, or make her like me, with these scripts and stupid stuff like that.

My art teacher said the self portrait sucked, she ridiculed the Janis Joplin saying "at least she looks drugged out" and that "Hole in the ground" at the top right of the soviet flag drawing was supposed to be a mound of trash covering a mistake that can still be seen.

I like to draw, but I don't think anything I draw is perfect. I am just proud of it. I can only draw because I am half way OCD and I am very mathematically oriented.

how about some of your talents? I mean besides the writing, (not that that isnt ******* cool because it is awesome. I think it is cool as hell that youre working on screenplays)

That all sounds pretty close to me. I used to play more, but for about a year now I haven't played near at all. I also used to draw a lot more, but I've got back into it because I started coloring random funny drawings for my friends ( a few for that girl, Kelly.) What do you like to draw, or read?
