It has nothing to do with the suit, although a suit shows you're interested in looking your best for the job and shows that you care about getting the job
It has everything to do with the fact that the resume was shit, and what was said to the employer was shit, and the conduct was shit
If a person did what the black in the picture did they also would not get a job because of not wearing a suit, because of poor conduct, because of shitty resume and because of shitty conversation

Well I did't know that you called white people that! And it surprises the shit out of me and you definitely shouldn't do it in real life it's only been sixty years since white folks would yell it at a black guy then skin him and hang him in a tree
But even if you are perfectly fair in passing out your extreme judgement of people, there isn't a pro-black bias in hiring. I know people like to say that because of affirmative action policies but if you do some research you'll find it isn't supported by facts.
I get red-thumbed every time I post about this study but I don't really care so here goes:
If you take two identical resumes, one with a white-sounding name and one with a black-sounding name, the black-sounding name is significantly less likely to get an interview I.e. Jamal vs. Jim . This study has been done numerous times and it always finds the same thing, and there are other studies showing similar problems at the interviewing stage and in getting promotions.

These claims are based on anecdotes, and a lot of these anecdotes are based on faulty logic "He got hired ahead of me? Must be because he's black"

Now I'm not complaining as much as I just feel it's kind of wrong to expect all men except gay men as being good for nothing more than heavy work. Not even intelligent work. It's biased to think of women as being smart but weak.
And I feel its kind of wrong to set aside a white man with a wonderful resume and perfect tact at an interview for someone who shows no regard for getting the job at all, black or white, male or female. There are so few men working in my store. Yeah, it's an arts and crafts store, but that doesn't excuse the fact that there are men willing to work there who I probably took a job from because I was female.
The only men who work the counter are gay. The rest of the men save one are lifters, kept around for more demanding tasks.

See? Stick around here and you'd notice it. Although many of the time these white folks call themselves wiggers or even niggers so it's not like we started it. I went to a school where, since most of the student body was white, a lot of white boys and girls adapted to being more of a black stereotype than black stereotypes themselves
MIT and several other companies were shown to, and still do, use affirmative action as an excuse to overlook overqualified persons. Now while your survey is equally proof there is data backing up the fact that many times a shit resume will get pushed because it sounds black and the company needed a black person.
I would be tempted to hear you out if I hadn't seen it in person and if I wasn't exposed to an EXTRAORDINARY amount of sexism in all my jobs. The men ALWAYS do the heavy work while the women always are told to do the light work or the smart work. Now I'm no good at assembling things or running a technical aspect of my job, and memory is really my best skill in a retail job. It's easier for me just to lift. Meanwhile, my coworker is a white male who is extremely intelligent. Guess where he is? Inside the truck unloading while I do the replenishment inside the store. Where every day I have to assemble and disassemble things which takes me forever to do. Now, to be fair his partner is a meathead, but this guy honestly is miserable, and I know I'd much rather like to be in that truck than him. But no. The two men on our replenishment staff unload the truck. We help sort, but for the most part it's their only part of the job.
My managers will say to this kid "you're a big strong man we need your muscles over here" overlooking a coworker of mine who can lift and has lifted twice her weight.
Now I know women and blacks aren't the same but the affirmative action is still there.

I've been on fj since I was about 14 (9 years, mostly as anon) and I've only seen it used with black people in a derogatory sense. Sometimes it's used as a generic insult like fag but that's obviously different.
But yes, some places do use affirmative action but the study shows that, on balance, blacks have a significant disadvantage in getting jobs.
But black people and racism is very different from sexism, both in terms of history and the current situation. I really don't see how men lifting heavy things is relevant to a conversation about race
I also don't see how anecdotes are relevant when you have an near-infinite resource to search for actual evidence. I don't know, but it's quite possible that women are similarly disadvantaged in hiring if you were to look at evidence-based studies.
I also have some final points on affirmative action:
1) most universities and colleges use it to favour white kids over Asians who have generally higher test scores, but nobody complains about this because it favours white people
2) I think affirmative action should be based on income instead of race, so that upward social mobility is increased for all poor people. It is harder to have a 95% average when your parents have no money, so if you do have that average it should count for more, regardless of race. It would also stop people like those on funnyjunk from complaining about nonexistent biases towards black people in hiring decisions, and cut down on some racial tensions

The fact is that there are a lot of niggas who act in this absolutely disgraceful manner when applying for a job and STILL get a job, or sue if they don't. Then you have a black man acting just like the white candidate who is hailed as the holy grail and an equally qualified white man will always not get the job

We make everyone's skin and hair the same and a color no race has. Strip away the most obvious factor of race. In a country like America we have a diversity of faces so it's hard to tell exactly what someone's actual race is without looking at color.
Feminism has pretty much worked out most of the bugs to the point of it being kind of circular logic now (women can do anything! except be expected to lift heavy objects and go to war, we just want the smart and good paying jobs men used to get), so all we have to do is keep the aspects of feminism that make sense. Do what we're already doing today to elementary/primary students to show them women have as much right to be in society as men.
Of course, this is all retarded and in a way counterproductive but is there any other way? Differences make people hate each other. Differences are good, but good enough to outweigh the cons? Sometimes I think the world of harrison burgeron isn't as bad as Ray bradbury made it seem..

I wish people could treat everyone equally and just see a person and not a label.
But that won't happen at all. People are often just too set in their ways, many like seeing others suffer because they are not happy and almost everyone wants everyone else to be the same as them, because differences scare us or make us jealous.
I mean, look at me. I want the black person in the content to wear a suit and conform to a standard of civilized society.
And yet I can't stand to admit my own gender online because I hate the stereotyping that comes with it and I just want to be seen as a person not a gender.
