Richard Dawkins mentioned several times that many bishops believe that God made living beings so that they could evolve and such.

If I look at the evidence for wither side it is little. Although everyone except their mother is a macro evolutionist, I feel most are doing to to feel smarter. The evidence says mutations, but then the argument is whether it even adds information. People say god exists with no proof. None. Also little shit cunts like her don't just make Christians look like brain dead fuck heads, she makes me feel bad to be a human.

It's weird to me when Christians say this type of thing, that they believe in evolution and what not. Don't you also still believe in the bible? You'd HAVE to to call yourself christian, right? Evolution suggests that the earth is millions of years old, and the bible says only a few thousand.....How can you possibly believe in both at the same time?

I would disagree with the old christian "earth is just a couple thousand years old" argument. I believe when the creation of Earth is being described in the Bible by "days" Moses meant ages of time. Not literally 7 days. Hebrew context is VERY different from Greek and English interpretations.

I agree with you. I think the problem is that most Christians are taught "If it isn't in the bible it isn't true and it's obviously made up by the devil." I do not believe God intended the bible to be written in stone. Don't get me wrong, I'm not saying you can change whatever you want from the bible but what I'm saying is that he didn't mean for Christians to blindly follow him and not think freely about things. And that's the issue, most Christians will not think about something before rejecting it completely. God gave you common sense and free thought, use it. Now I do sincerely believe that there is a fine line between Christian and crazy.

With that being said, I am Christian and I am not stereotyping anyone nor am I saying every Christian is like that.

but this, as far as I know, happens only in the usa.. the roman catholic church has accepted evolution a while ago and when I attended a church school, i was still taught about evolution.. im not a practising catholic anymore but still this irritates me since i know a lot of believers, including friends and family, who are not the stereotipical believers, quite the contrary

I would agree with you on that. Thankfully there are level headed folks like you and I.

A Christian claiming to believe in evolution.

Seems entirely illogical to me, not to mention contradictory.

No where in the bible does it say evolution didn't happen.
#845 - caesium (03/14/2013) [-]
Its actually not that contradictory, you can still be christian without having to believe a lot of what the bible says. People are entitled have their own opinion of god. Some believe in evolution but believe that God is the reason behind it. its like that spore game where you edit your creature to make it better as you go along. (Not comparing god to a gamer or anything, but you get my point).
