Me and a few friends of mine tried this back in high school, and our first few batches were crap, but we kept experimenting until we got some pretty good results.I'll share our experience, If you want to try making some. That picture gives a good idea of the basics, but not enough detail to get anything decent. Starting of you can use any one gallon or larger container, as long as it has been sterilized by hot water, other microorganisms can kill off the yeast prematurely. You can use jugs of juice like in the pic, but we found its better to use 2 cans juice concentrate( without preservatives) per gallon batch + water. First you want to activate the yeast(not shown in pic) yeast packets will likely have instructions on how to activate, but basically you put the yeast and a spoonful of sugar into a cup of warm water, stir , and let it sit 5-8 minutes. Pour the juice into the container then you can funnel in 2.5-3 cups sugar per gallon depending on how strong you want it ( alc. content will vary based on sugar you put in and time you let it ferment) then mix the sugar thoroughly. Following it with the yeast mix and then slightly warm water until its almost full. At this point you want to make an air lock, the pic shows one method with the cork and tubing into a cup of water, the basic principle is to make sure the methane and co2 produced by the yeast can leave (so the container doesnt explode) without air flowing back in which could contaminate it and kill the yeast. However another method for a very easy airlock is to slip a balloon over the lip of the jug and secure it with a rubber band then poke a pinhole in it, a small hole will only let gas escape when there is enough gas to start inflating the balloon. Finally you want to place the jug in a warm, dark place for the full time it's fermenting, I would recommend 2 weeks minimum with 4 max. Keep in mind the gas venting from the airlock will make a distinct smell wherever you put it. When you decide you want to drink it simply place it into either a very cold fridge or alternative for a few hours to kill the yeast (leave any alive and the jug can still pressurize) and let the dregs( dead yeast and solid waste) settle to the bottom. Then you want to transfer it to another bottle, either pouring using a fine filter, using rubber hose as a siphon, or just carefully pouring the liquid so you can stop before pouring in the dregs. At this point you should have some ready to drink, home made sugar wine! But if you maybe want something stronger, you can try your hand at freeze distillation. Simply put the finished wine into a flat top container and put it in a freezer, every couple hours use a strainer to pull off the ice that will form on top. ideally the ice will be primarily water as the alcohol will only freeze at a much lower temperature. If you continue doing this until the ice that forms is very thin or not forming a layer at all, you will have a considerably stronger drink, akin to a weak brandy. If you really want it to be strong just freeze distill until you can't get any ice at all, but if you're doing this you basically want weak liquor and I would recommend not adding juice in the first place as it wont taste great this distilled.

User avatar #31 - sphincterface (02/22/2015) [-]
Tali is cute and all, but Liara is my favorite. Tali is kind of foolish how she makes these nearly fatal mistakes that not only endanger her, but everyone else around her. Not that she hasn't done some good in the games, she is one of the most loyal characters in the whole series, one of the few old squadmates who decides to help Shepard in ME2. I still go with Liara though, because I romanced her in ME1 and I love how she develops from a sort of awkward scientists to some badass Shadow Broker. Also I like blue, it's my favorite color. So I love those bloobies.

Tali just keeps getting herself involved in dumb shit and you have to keep bailing her out.

Mass Effect 1: Tries to double cross the shadow broker with info on a spectre. How the hell does some stupid quarian on a pilgrimage expect to get away dealing with forces like that?

Mass Effect 2: Gets nearly all her team killed doing research on some dying sun... On a planet controlled by geth... Which amounts to nothing in the rest of the games...

Mass Effect 3: After you've told her people COUNTLESS times that the reapers are coming and the fact that you can bring a friendly geth to talk to the Admirals and let them know the geth aren't the real enemy, there she is supporting a full out war on the geth instead of desperately trying to stop it.

On the other hand, Liara helps you decode prothean mysteries, saves your frozen, dead ass from the shadow broker/collectors, becomes the new shadow broker and garners all his assets to your support, discovers the plans for the crucible, and even makes multiple time capsules detailing your struggle and warnings about the reapers for future cycles.

How can Liara NOT be best waifu!?!
User avatar #27 - ACanadian (02/22/2015) [-]
She didn't double cross the Shadow Broker. Fist, who was the contact for the Shadow Broker, did by trying to take the info and give it to Saren.

While I agree that the data was pointless and never came up again, it wasn't her fault. A random ass Geth patrol found them, and vastly outnumbered the Quarians, who aren't exactly the best in ground combat. AS well that the marine squad had orders to give their lives in order to save her.

Maybe it depends on your choices, but Tali has always said that personally she doesn't want the war to happen, yet as an Admiral she has to go along with it or it'll cause a huge rift. Not to mention nearly every Quarian's dream for the last 300 or whatever years was to re-take their homeworld.
User avatar #29 - Indoknight (02/22/2015) [-]
For the shadow broker stuff, my point still stands. No matter what the details are, how does she expect to deal with such powerful forces such as info brokers and spectres and expect to live? She's a dumbass who needed shepard to save her skin.

Also, I see we are debating Tali's usefulness while no doubt has been cast on how much Liara helped. Just from that, one can deduce that Liara is way better in terms of supporting and helping shepard than tali ever was on her own.
User avatar #40 - ACanadian (02/22/2015) [-]
That's why she went to the Shadow Broker. For protection. She knew the audio she got from the geth put her in a huge amount of danger, so she was going to trade it for protection. Though I think in the Shadow Broker DLC for ME2 it's revealed that he was planning on killing her anyways, so it's a good thing Shepard came along Either it's been awhile since you played the first game so you don't recall, or you just never listened.

That's because I'm not talking about how useful Liara is, or who the best character is, I was just correcting you on things that were wrong for the most part.

Idk, it's just the future of your people and the reapers are here on top of that. I would yell, scream, and holler and do anything to prevent war with the geth asap. Even if there is a rift, at least some people will get killed instead of ALL of them

>retake their homeworld

Reapers are here. Priorities, people...

Technically, this could work. The blue-skirted girl's left leg would go under the red-skirted girl's left leg, popping out right over the left shoulder of the lucky man.
The red-skirted girls right leg would go on the outside, resting over the blue-skirted girls butt. So basically, her legs would be spread out a lot more then the blue-skirted girl. I crudely drew it out, as shown.
