im playing my first d&d campaign, and the dm has said if we piss him off he'll summon Cthulhu. hes done it with another party before. and it's only my first time, well most of the people in the parties first time actually.

to be fair it's never a particularly good idea to piss off the DM
User avatar #47 - dogziller (07/25/2014) [-]

what the players want
what you actually are

Cthulhu can't be killed without homebrew Macguffins, power armour is pretty useless on him.
#29 - warlockrichard (07/25/2014) [-]
but what if the power armor specifically protects against the magical macguffins?
User avatar #30 - jaggedherp (07/25/2014) [-]
It's generic name brand elder god power armour, also Macguffins take that shit into account. When Cthulhu is summoned the game usually ends, since even though he has stats you can't do any real damage to him (he might not even have health) and if he looks at you, you take crazy high mental losses/fear/insanity
#31 - warlockrichard (07/25/2014) [-]
well I've never played call of cthulu before so I wouldn't know
User avatar #33 - jaggedherp (07/25/2014) [-]
It's nuts. So many rolls related to going insane.
User avatar #3 - crazyolitis (07/24/2014) [-]
I never played that kidn of games. What does roll for initiative mean, exactly? finding out who will be the first to do an action?
#4 - warlockrichard (07/24/2014) [-]
pretty much in combat for tabletop games like dnd all the players roll dice to determine what order they attack in the game master will also roll for the npc's

Nice to see another twokinds fan.
Tell me, what do you think of Maddie Addie?
User avatar #63 to #62 - warlockrichard (04/13/2012) [-]
hilariously random
#64 to #63 - redwolfradolf (04/13/2012) [-]
Have you read the latest update?

User avatar #65 to #64 - warlockrichard (04/13/2012) [-]
yes I have and I think it might bode well for those two
User avatar #66 to #65 - redwolfradolf (04/13/2012) [-]
Which two?
Mike and Evals?
User avatar #68 to #67 - redwolfradolf (04/13/2012) [-]
Yeah, i wonder if the whole reason Maddie came onboard was because of Keith.
Also i think Mike has got to be the unluckiest character in the whole comic so far....
User avatar #69 to #68 - warlockrichard (04/13/2012) [-]
in all likelihood you're right on both accounts
User avatar #70 to #69 - redwolfradolf (04/13/2012) [-]
This is gonna get intresting then....
User avatar #71 to #70 - warlockrichard (04/13/2012) [-]

User avatar #72 to #71 - redwolfradolf (04/13/2012) [-]
"This isn't what it looks like!"
If i had a nickel for every time someone said that in this comic....
User avatar #73 to #72 - warlockrichard (04/13/2012) [-]
you would have a metric shit-ton of nickels
User avatar #74 to #73 - redwolfradolf (04/13/2012) [-]
Yeah, Tom Fishbach seems to very fond of that kind of humor.
