You got it, I remember the description of the blade in one of the older books where Luke gets one when his breaks down and he has to either use it or die. Pretty bichin, just a normal blade thats made of darkest night, sucking color from all it's "light" touches. Bitchin

That's just Jedi training. The during the height of the Sith empires they would mass-produce generic lightsabers with the synthetic red crystals.

According to the star wars wiki its tough shit to learn to use one, a lightsaber is an arc of plasma inside a force-field. On the other hand the little children in the Jedi HQ that are dicking around with lightsabers are using "trainee" lightabers. Those are glorified baseball bats (the worst possible wound from one is like a bad bruise) and I would kill for one of those.

even the sith used dull swords coated in poison than numbed the area where it hit

vader's lightsaber can actually change in length and he often does adjust it during fights

If it's not in Rebels, the Clone Wars Cartoon, the Movies or one or two of the new books, it's not canon.

They do. Obi Won actually used it (possibly by accident) when killing Darth Maul. This is obviously not specified in the movie, but I believe it was in the novelization of the Phantom Menace, which was written based on the script of the movie, and published about a month before the movie was.

I'm pretty sure even Masters would adjust their saber's power when sparring. So i think normal sabers do have a switch/dial

Guy had a tumor growing in his pituitary gland which caused a fuck ton of growth hormones to be created..so he grew, and grew.

ofcourse theres side effects look at this nigga head

This is fuckey to begin with, because excess human growth hormone after your puberty growth causes broadening of bones, not lengthening. This is called acromegaly, look it up in google images, its crazy bad for bone structure. This guy who became a giant must've been a ridiculously late bloomer to grow in height, or some weird genetic issue that caused his bone plates to never fuse.
#50 - mutzaki (07/18/2015) [-]
I wonder if you could do it in cases of dwarf children, and only for a limited amount of time. As far as I know, the people who end up deformed giants most commonly only get to that stage because they have a tumor on the pituitary gland, and so they get perpetual growth hormones well after their 20's. I just read up on directly giving children growth hormones, and how it didn't prove very effective, but directly affecting the source within the body seems to be very effective. I'm sure people have thought of it before, though, and concluded that it's either too risky or doesn't work.

The thing with Human Growth Hormone is that its unlike other hormones, you need A LOT of it, the old way of extracting HGH from dead bodies wasn't suitable for this. Nowadays, we can harvest massive amounts of it from bacteria that have the DNA coding for the HGH hormone on their plasmids, just like what we do with insulin now. However, you need to get a lot of injections of that stuff, which isn't fun, and unlike insulin which is relatively safe if the bacteria survive to make it into your body and flourish, if a culture of HGH creating bacteria found the right place to grow in your body, it could cause acromegaly/gigantism. But hey, thats a risk almost all of them are willing to take. also, don't forgot that this only treats pituitary dwarfism, where the bones in the arms and legs don't lengthen. True dwarfism won't be affected as much, as excess HGH during growth doesn't really do anything, assuming it doesn't linger.

there would be serious side effects to this, in this guys case the increase in height left him bedridden for life. There was a report about a guy who suffered from gigantism also had bone deformities in his upper arm (they physically curved themselves) so he was really weak

It's a parody of a Blacktallon hollowpoint bullet that "opens up into a flower of shrapnel" on impact and create a larger wound channel, like every other hollow point in history. Somehow it got the label of being a copkiller round and they stopped making them, officially anyway. You can still buy them though, Winchester still sells them under the label Ranger SXT.
