Quite hard to find a fan translation honestly as Yenpress owns the right for the english translation
Sure they have a child and such, everything is expalined in the 17th novel, which is just a side one and that sucks.

I was aware of the lack of kiss and so on , altho I am surprised they have a child. If it just kept going on without anything actually happening it'd be the best imo.

Anime just disappointed me. Coulda had a wonderful anti-hero story about an aspie protagonist who can't relate to other humans and the intrigue required to climb this incredible tower.

I can immerse myself in shit just fine. Hell, I can even come up with extra dialogue that the characters could say in whatever situation they're in like I'm actually the character; I've done it before. But in the end, I still know it's not real and that it's not worth getting emotional over , and that is the main reason why I feel nothing. But that not's the only reason though; you see, Asperger's greatly dulls down one's emotional capabilities, so even if I immersed myself to the point where I honestly believed what I was reading/watching/playing/whatever was my actual life, I would still feel nothing. There's nothing that can be done about this, and nothing that will be felt.

Yes, it's invalidated, because it didn't occur in real life. You don't see people saying they aren't a virgin just because they went to Lion's Pride Inn for an hour on the Moonguard realm for WoW. If it didn't happen in reality, then what happened doesn't matter.

Not to mention that to SAO players Sword Art Online was quite literally their world for 3 years. The argument we're having right now is also depicted in the Aincrad arc of the LN btw.

That's in Progressive, right? I've got that on my Kindle and I'll probably end up starting that soon.

haven't read progressive. There are simply some side-stories released , I found the story in the material edition as far as I remember. The short story of the "murder" in town (also shown in the anime) is also there.

PS: SPOILER: Some of the characters from the murder story are also in GGO

Hopefully it's the same for me, was gonna read Alfheim anyway since I know they probably left some out, I just wasn't sure if I was gonna hate it the whole way through.

You'd also be wise to read the side stories up until the point you have reached.
I for example liked First Day , a rather short story of mere hours after SAO begins.

Is there actually an arc about AIDS
User avatar #1003290 - warbob (07/29/2014) [-]
no , the sexual theme is mostly avoided (16.5 is not considered canon)
Although I just read through a seduction of one of the main characters to turn against Kirito , but Alicalization is a bit bolder on this.

I've heard from a few other LN readers that it's the best arc, it does seem rather interesting, unfortunately that doesn't seem to be the last arc as the writer stated he doesn't see an end in sight for SAO or Accel World's LNs. Since I liked the first volume, I don't want to see it take a vast quality drop other than Alfheim.
User avatar #1003252 - warbob (07/29/2014) [-]
although Alfehim felt mostly rushed (there were some good moments in it too) , I hold SAO as a book in high regards overall.

Why do we all try?
In the end we'll all die
The same outcome for all
The tall and the small
For the people who think they are worthless
And for the rich people who have no sense
To see their lives will end too
And there's nothing they can do
You can't buy your way out of death
One of life’s hardest test
Some people's lives end fast
Like in a shooting or a crash
Their lives are over in a flash
Their friends all mourn
Their family is torn

You seem to have some FJ points, which are used in the FJ collecting game and nothing else,
if you're willing to give them away just click this link: www.funnyjunk.com/items/4236130#4236130
and click the (T) next to my name. Send them using the arrow next to the points.
Note that they will not affect your thumbs in anyway.
