It's pretty much the same as that. The mechas or "Valvraves" are the super awesome new weapon, but not as important as the other sooper sekrit weapons. Oh, and there is an autistic NEET qt, rape, and many bro-tier characters. Plus Eruerufu is keikaku king, so that was entertaining as well.

It was a wild ride type anime, so be warned. There is a lot of bullshit and the bullshit is a part of its charm, so if you can't handle that you probably won't enjoy yourself much. But you liked CG, so you will probably be able to stomach this.

I recommend it.

Never watched it, never plan to. But I get what you are saying. To further define my position, I want the technology to be a better human, not the technology that gives me what I want on the grounds that I am no longer human.

But in the case of VVV, I would resign as a human. That one is actually a pretty good deal.

I just want to still be able to claim that I am human. Magic is really the only way to achieve true immortality. That leaves something like Mahouka's magi-science which is basically using technology to fuck with the universe at a subatomic level.

You can maintain a brain and CNS pretty well already. If we get to the point where I can get upgrades for my whole body I'm pretty sure keeping one type of tissue intact in a container will be feasible.

I am willing to take risks if it means getting to keep a little bit of my humanity. I'll just be sure to have a really good body to protect that tissue with.

But what is the lack of motivation if not lack of time to spend on it.
If you had infinite time you would write a book. Even if someone doesn't like it - you can just rewrite it. You can always improve it. You only need to have the time and you'll eventually decide to do so.
Also solves the traveling problem. What is there to fear if you have unlimited time to accomplish something.

You'll need to apply for a Working VISA if you plan on working before being a full citizen, having a criminal conviction will make it hard for it to be accepted (I think, depending on the crime). To become a full citizen you need to live in Australia for at least 2 years, then you can apply, you will get your certificate certifying citizenship on Australia Day.

Now, working in the gaming industry is tricky, you have to be the best of the best to even get a job that uses a computer let alone being a programmer (took my brother a couple of years to get a job in IT Security). I have no idea about previous degrees, training, employment in other countries, but if necessary there is Quantum College which is well advertised, last I heard it is $30,000 AUD a year (I think).

I'm not certain with the above but do check out the below sites.

Boredom is indeed easily found when you're a mortal.

But perhaps it is because of all the obligations you have to spend your time to. Is there truly nothing you want to do? Read a book? A manga? A LN ? Watch something? Listen to something?
Why don't you?
Because you can't.
You have to go to school / uni / work.
You have to get up early.
You have to sleep , the biggest time waste of all.

Really , there are so many obstacles to fullfilling your primary desire that it's saddening. Being mortal is pitiful.

Humans tend to keep finding amusements. Not to mention that just reading and recovering all that has been writen by human kind thus far will take milenias.
And what if there are aliens? So much more to see and explore.
If you run out of civilisations to explore? Create another.
Bored of exploring? Start messing up with things.
Bored with messing up? Give someone else similiar powers, watch what he does.
Bored of EVERYTHING? Search for a way to kill yourself. That would be the only thing that will be left unknown for you by then.

I was able to withstand Code Geass because of Lelouch , C.C. and the glorious plot.
I didn't mind the mecha part since the whole story didn't revolve around it and they were mainly used simply as a weapon, no different from a tank for example.
User avatar #912544 - bababadsheep (04/06/2014) [-]
It's pretty much the same as that. The mechas or "Valvraves" are the super awesome new weapon, but not as important as the other sooper sekrit weapons. Oh, and there is an autistic NEET qt, rape, and many bro-tier characters. Plus Eruerufu is keikaku king, so that was entertaining as well.

It was a wild ride type anime, so be warned. There is a lot of bullshit and the bullshit is a part of its charm, so if you can't handle that you probably won't enjoy yourself much. But you liked CG, so you will probably be able to stomach this.

I recommend it.
User avatar #912547 - warbob (04/06/2014) [-]

True immortality.
User avatar #912492 - bababadsheep (04/06/2014) [-]
Decent. It so best, but not really scientifically feasible. You could start by repairing your telomeres though.
User avatar #912503 - warbob (04/06/2014) [-]
I have a man on medicine working on it.
I will meanwhile explore the conversion of all memory to data. As long as I'm immortal I don't feel much attachment to my body.
User avatar #912509 - bababadsheep (04/06/2014) [-]
>uploading your conciousness

Yeeaaaaaaaaaaaaah no. I am willing to go all cyborg and replace a lot of things, but brain and CNS is not one of them. Too much questioning on what is the real you and what isn't.
User avatar #912511 - warbob (04/06/2014) [-]
even if you become a cyborg , you still need a brain. And tissue is also not eternal.
Otherwise it's no different from what I suggested.
User avatar #912516 - bababadsheep (04/06/2014) [-]
You can maintain a brain and CNS pretty well already. If we get to the point where I can get upgrades for my whole body I'm pretty sure keeping one type of tissue intact in a container will be feasible.

I am willing to take risks if it means getting to keep a little bit of my humanity. I'll just be sure to have a really good body to protect that tissue with.
User avatar #912518 - warbob (04/06/2014) [-]
pretty far from true immortality you know.

But it's a start.
User avatar #912521 - bababadsheep (04/06/2014) [-]
I just want to still be able to claim that I am human. Magic is really the only way to achieve true immortality. That leaves something like Mahouka's magi-science which is basically using technology to fuck with the universe at a subatomic level.

That would work. Probably.
User avatar #912524 - warbob (04/06/2014) [-]
magic is simply a power with unkown origin.
god is someone with unknown power.

This conversation reminds me of Hellsing.
One would be Seras , a being not exacly human yet clinging to her human traits.
Another would be the german general , something that is human because he defines himself as one.
User avatar #912525 - bababadsheep (04/06/2014) [-]
Never watched it, never plan to. But I get what you are saying. To further define my position, I want the technology to be a better human, not the technology that gives me what I want on the grounds that I am no longer human.

But in the case of VVV, I would resign as a human. That one is actually a pretty good deal.
User avatar #912527 - warbob (04/06/2014) [-]
If I were given the choice between true immortality and simply a longer life as a human ...
I fail to understand why would one choose slowly dying, except for the chance of finding a way to be both truly immortal and human.
User avatar #912530 - bababadsheep (04/06/2014) [-]
That's why VVV immortality is pretty great. I mean sure, I am basically a space vampire, but no big deal. I am still technically a human and can survive being killed in every way the leaves a body behind, so I feel pretty good about that.

#912459 - warbob (04/06/2014) [-]
Sure , maybe you won't like it all the time.

But you'll have no worries.
No restrictions.
You can read, watch , listen, see, create anything you wish for.
Absolutely nothing is impossible. Why? Because can one really not find a way how to do something for an eternity ?
#912464 - nanashi (04/06/2014) [-]
you might be able to find things to do for a little while, but someday everything will bore you and then you will curse that immortality
User avatar #912473 - warbob (04/06/2014) [-]
I wouldn't be so sure.

User avatar #912476 - nanashi (04/06/2014) [-]
i would argue, but i had never even considered those points, i was too caught up in the boredom i experience so easily, you make a very good argument
User avatar #912485 - warbob (04/06/2014) [-]
Boredom is indeed easily found when you're a mortal.

But perhaps it is because of all the obligations you have to spend your time to. Is there truly nothing you want to do? Read a book? A manga? A LN ? Watch something? Listen to something?
Why don't you?
Because you can't.
You have to go to school / uni / work.
You have to get up early.
You have to sleep , the biggest time waste of all.

Really , there are so many obstacles to fullfilling your primary desire that it's saddening. Being mortal is pitiful.
User avatar #912493 - nanashi (04/06/2014) [-]
no, my problem lies in one of humanitys most negative traits, the lack of motivation.

i want to write a book, but i can never gather the courage or will to start writing again, since i got some bad reviews.
i want to be a chef working on that
i want to travel the world and see many things and learn things from all over the world, but i fear what would happen if i fail while in some strange country.
fear and lack of motivation are my greatest obstacles
User avatar #912501 - warbob (04/06/2014) [-]
But what is the lack of motivation if not lack of time to spend on it.
If you had infinite time you would write a book. Even if someone doesn't like it - you can just rewrite it. You can always improve it. You only need to have the time and you'll eventually decide to do so.
Also solves the traveling problem. What is there to fear if you have unlimited time to accomplish something.

For starts my friend, we must aquire a source of resources (money) . On average if you have 500-1000k in a bank it should be enough to live from the interest in the bank fyi.
Then do whatever you wish for. But eventually, you'll find a problem. There is so much more to do and so little time to do so.

I'm basing all my judgement off the manga though. Just pointing that out. I don't know about the LN or the anime so I can't say anything about that.

It's not that people dislike OP characters, it's just that the characters need to be displayed correctly. Most OP characters are legitimately OP and that gets boring and bland. Think about it, if there was a character who could do anything and not be stopped by anyone, there would be no conflict and it would get boring. You would never be thinking, "Oh maybe he'll have trouble this time!" Instead you'll always think "Oh here we go, MC is gonna wipe the floor with bad guy." and that makes the bad guys boring and useless.

Some OP characters are awesome though because they have OP abilities, but they have restrictions and their villains are able to match up with them. Look at Lelouch from Code Geass. He had one of the most OP abilities of all time, but he was still stopped by his enemies at some points. That's what makes him a good "OP" character.

That's what I think anyway.

You seem to have some FJ points, which are used in the FJ collecting game and nothing else,
if you're willing to give them away just click this link: www.funnyjunk.com/items/4236130#4236130
and click the (T) next to my name. Send them using the arrow next to the points.
Note that they will not affect your thumbs in anyway.
