I won't say middle as much as the weak of the sword being hit by another person strong would likely result in the sword being bent and that point if it is not flexible enough. If a sword is well made will good steel it will be able to flex and retain it's shape.

And while I agree that swords can snap, however this only happens with bad or old equipment. It is not a strategy that can be reasonably relied upon to win you fights, in the same way that guns jamming is a thing but not something any sane person would count on to win them a gun fight.

Yes, they do.
An impact to the middle of the sword deal by the end of another sword, for example.
A sword cannot be made without that kind of weakness. It's fundamental with all long pointy things. They are easier to break in the middle.
