If they're both healthy then I don't see why not. I have two cats, one is an outdoor cat, the other one doesn't bother and stays at home because she's old. They use same food bowl and litter-box. They both get vaccinated and dewormed regularly. That's the only downside to sharing bowl/toilet with an outdoor cat - the indoor one needs to be dewormed more often than it normally would.

But I think that for first couple or so weeks you should get them separate bowels and litter boxes. They might get along just fine since day 1, but in case they won't you need to be prepared. Just the fact that there is another cat in a house might make your current kitty feel insecure and threatened. Sharing food and litter box will just strengthen this feeling to the point when she's afraid to eat or use litter box. Same goes for a new cat - s/he will be stressed about being in a new place that smells like another cat. New cat might feel like an intruder and again - be too scared to use same litter box or food bowl. If each cat has its own place to eat and poop, they will be much more relaxed and get along quicker, because they won't have to rival over food and territory - they can just focus on getting to know each other. Once they're friends, you can remove extra litter box and food bowl.

Then she's definitely bored. If you don't have time to play with her then another cat is a good solution, especially since the cost of having 2 cats is not much higher than cost of having one.

Does your cat like other cats? Some cats love cat company and others despise it.

she never interacted with other cats since i adopted her. she does not like to go outside at all. trying to get her outside is like trying to give her a shower.

Yes.

I'd advise you to get an adult cat from a shelter. With an adult cat you can tell straight away what his character and personality are like. The fact that he will know how to use litter box and be already neutered is another plus. They will also tell you which cat is friendly towards other cats, which will make befriending your cats much easier.

Also, how old is your cat? Maybe she's just being old rather than bored?
