I don't thinks so one would be invasive and actually touching a intimate body part (hand in pants) where as touch one breast on top of the shirt is just silly harmless fun like getting a slap on the back or a punch in the shoulder or chest men touch each other all the time it is harmless and silly it is just a harmless joke even if it is annoying for the woman. Additionally if she didn't want to be surrounded by drunk men who might think touching a breast is funny she pick the wrong place to be didn't she ?. Finally it didn't see to bother her half as much as it bothers you.

From my experience as a girl and having been touched that way as well, I know that even though she didn't seem to react I can tell by their facial expressions and the mere fact he touched her the way he did that she would look back on it and be unhappy. I look back on times when guys touched me like that inappropriately and I wished I'd expressed how I really felt about it because it makes us feel really uncomfortable and violated. She held back her reaction because she wanted to keep her cool and not look like she's over reacting and stuff but it's still unacceptable and not just a joke. If it makes her feel uncomfortable or violated, even if you coax her into thinking it's just in good fun, it's still unacceptable. I don't think you can come close to understanding because you're not a woman, you don't have breasts.

And also, a woman should be able to go ANYWHERE without expecting to be touched by men and made to feel uncomfortable.

He was in the wrong and he should not be praised for doing something like that to a girl.

I never said it was right or even appropriate I said it was harmless.Just because you find it offensive and it makes you uncomfortable I should assume every woman feels the same as you ? I agree in an Ideal world a woman shouldn't have to worry about drunk jerks groping them but were are not in an Ideal world and if you put your self in a place like that where the odds of someone touching you inappropriately increase drastically then you share some of the blame .

If you want to talk about praising people who shouldn't be let's talk about this trend of women who mutilate their husband or boyfriends genitals and are treated like god damn hero's and are praise by other women on television, radio magazines etc and given book deals ! ,and receive the most lenient prison sentences I have ever seen for a violent crime. People should not be praised and certainly not rewarded for mutilating others.

User avatar #603 - vixenmacabre (04/06/2013) [-]
No-one's trying to hijack anything. That woman has suffered because of the world she lives in and who are you to say otherwise? People do stupid things when they're hurt. She's trying to be strong even though she feels very wronged by the world. I'll admit I used to have strong dislike towards males because of the way they've run the world and what they've done to women through history and what they're doing today. See those skinny girls on the billboards that make us all insecure about our bodies? That was a man's idea. He doesn't care how he's affected girls and women in the world, all he cares about is money. He wants us to be envious of this impossible standard so that we will buy his product. Simple as that. The truth fucking hurts. And sexuality is hard for us too. She doesn't want him to experience sexual pleasure? Okay that's totally wrong but it stems from her own sexual shame and jealousy that men are served sexually in this world while we women are put on a platter for them. It sucks for us to see that so we get hurt, angry at the world and say stupid things and have stupid beliefs. It's not easy being a woman. You may hate to hear that but you can't disagree because you'll never know what it's like. You can't even try to know what it's like.

I still struggle with my body and sexuality because of the way men in charge of advertising and corporations have chosen to portray us and I always will. Women always will and it sucks that we have these insecurities and jealousy imposed on us just because a man wants to make money. Behind that ridiculous rant you posted is a lot of trauma that you can't even fathom. She is angry, but eventually her anger will steep into knowledge, like mine did.

She is not hijacking the movement, she is just upset and is making an attempt to get back at the world that wronged her by threatening to do the things she says there. Of course, that is a VERY VERY VERY EXTREME example!!! You wont find another like her around.

im merely pointing out that there is a large, or at least extremely vocal, portion of so called "feminists" demanding that "womyn" be put in charge of everything while decrying everything a male does as "privilege"
i have also mentioned on at least 2 (possibly more but im too lazy to count) occasions that im all for the feminist work being done in 2nd and 3rd world countries where women dont get the rights they should (voting, equal pay, ability to get a job etc)
User avatar #601 - vixenmacabre (04/06/2013) [-]
It's just vocal. None of the feminist I know or any feminists blogs/pages I see even use the word 'womyn' or anyone saying all males actions are privilege. We discuss laws on contraception, victim blaming in society, equal pay**, fair representation in Government** and media etc. etc.
Feminism doesn't wish for women to be in charge of everything... It's only recently that women have started being hired into massive corporations like Fortune 500 and represented in Govt. Even so, it's less than 10% for both. This means that through most of history, only men have had a say in the development of society. History is seen through a man's eyes. That's only HALF of the possible history that we could be aware of today. A women's voice has always been scrubbed out of the history books because SHE WAS A WOMAN. In all areas, even art. Often times a woman would have to put her husbands name on a painting she did because critics and the art world believed woman's art was worthless. A lot of these artworks became famous and you believe was done by a man? It was done by a woman who was never allowed to take credit for it because it would have been considered worthless. That's the kinda shit we find unfair okay. We just want to be INCLUDED in the major decisions that occur in our societies. Because men and women think differently! You wouldn't want a world entirely run by women would you? Well it's almost been entirely run by men for CENTURIES now. Why? Because we weren't ALLOWED to have a say. There has never been a female president. It wasn't ALLOWED. There has never been a female pope. It's not ALLOWED. Women have not even been allowed to come CLOSE to these positions of power (it's slooowly changing albeit, but my point stands I hope).
Like I was saying before, if you look for something you will find it! You've been looking for all the things that make feminism look idiotic so that's what you've seen.

You wont find another like her around.

i really dont see how you cant justify anyone saying somebody should be disadvantaged as much as possible simply because of their gender

Here's a link for you... Of sexism where it matters... A video of important woman being trivialised and insulted for their appearance.

How I view feminism.
User avatar #614 - icedmantwo (04/06/2013) [-]
Im attempting to point out to you the parts of feminism that are cancerous and should be dissociated from however you keep thinking im saying that all feminism is bad
feminism still has a massive place in the world particularly in 2nd and 3rd world countries where women dont have equal rights
my issue is with the people that i keep posting references too
User avatar #616 - vixenmacabre (04/06/2013) [-]
Well gee I don't know why you are bringing this to me. Why do I care about the issue you have with a few people? Regardless of the fact they're feminist or not. I've proven to you again and again that is not my way of thinking. I acknowledge they exist but it's no reason to end feminism. There are stupid people everywhere. There are stupid gays. There are stupid buddhists. There are stupid video gamers. There are stupid models. But I forgive them. Why don't you just get over yourself and stop hating on people for being stupid? It's a waste of your energy to hate people just like this conversation is a waste of my time.
User avatar #617 - icedmantwo (04/06/2013) [-]
i never once said end feminism i said there is a group - fringe or not - that seeks to pervert feminism from what it originally was (equality) to what they want it to be (superiority) and that there should be some way of forming a distinction between somebody the two groups as, while im all for equality, i dont want to be associated with somebody who loudly proclaims feminism to be something to put women in charge of men
#606 - icedmantwo (04/06/2013) [-]
i mean its not like there are people intentionally taking offense to innocent comments are there?
User avatar #612 - vixenmacabre (04/06/2013) [-]
People take offence to all things.
You find gay rights activists getting huffy about using the word 'gay' in the context of 'that's so gay, it's really lame'.
Does that mean we should stop fighting for the rights of gays? Because a few people take offence to a non-colloquial use of the word gay?
#607 - icedmantwo (04/06/2013) [-]
i mean its not like there are women who intentionally hurt men as much as they can or anything
User avatar #610 - vixenmacabre (04/06/2013) [-]
Sorry but TLDR... Personal relationships do not have any weight in the feminist agenda anyway. It goes two ways... Men do horrible things to women in love too!

no, feminists are not the same thing as womens rights activists, cause a womens rights activist does not have to be a feminist, feminism is the idea that you can achieve equality by only focusing on one gender

I apologize if this seems invasive, but may we continue our conversation on your profile? It's nothing personal. I just feel bad for lengthening the comments on that post.

User avatar #5 to #3 - vixenmacabre (04/02/2013) [-]
Just some quotes from the content and comments, for reference:
About the girl in question for not wanting to date him "I hate you now!"
About girls that one FJ user was rejected by "These girls are demons!"
From top comment "I'd rather go with Brian then some hoe like that anyway. "
User avatar #4 to #3 - vixenmacabre (04/02/2013) [-]
In the way that I see so much content (on other websites too, Facebook for example) that slanders women. I protest the sexism I have to see everyday. I protest the way that other girls call the women in question 'sluts' and make it seem okay for guys to do the same. I also protest the way that when I, as a girl, say "Guys suck, he bailed on my date", I get torrential hatred - but thousands of males rejoice in the slandering of women by saying "She's a friendzoning bitch/hoe/slut!".
User avatar #6 to #4 - aerosol (04/02/2013) [-]
Well, there are a lot of mean here and I suppose it's kind of a group mentality thing. People go along with it because it is in their nature to want attention and to be accepted as part of the group. I've heard women do the same thing when they talk about men. It's just human nature, you know? The reason that girls have been consistently made fun of on this site is because there have always been more guys here than girls. You can make fun of guys here, but it's just not something you should expect most people to understand. Especially men. We are easily frustrated by things that we don't understand.
User avatar #9 to #6 - vixenmacabre (04/02/2013) [-]
Yeah it's true. The whole bandwagon thing. Well I've always just thought... **** that. I've educated myself on human mentality and gender interaction more than I have about internet memes and I'm not ashamed of that. I know there are lots of girls lurking on here that are too afraid to say they're bothered by the constant stream of sexist jokes but I'm not. I probably shouldn't have said 'guys are useless', but by my logic, if harsh words are used to generalise women all the time, why can't I say something about guys? I would of course prefer if we didn't generalise each other... Especially because I see SO much of it happening to girls and... well, I'm a girl.

You can. You just can't stop people from hating on you for it. That's just free will and we all have it. Just don't let it turn you into a cynical person. You seem very intelligent and it would be a shame to see your mind go to waste worrying about things like this.
User avatar #13 to #11 - vixenmacabre (04/02/2013) [-]
Thanks, I do have to be careful not to overanalyse things. Don't worry though, I can take the hate. As long as I can get some people to even /think/, that's success to me.

I just think that maybe someday, later down the line, a few people might just remember what I said and be even slightly more tolerant for it.
User avatar #7 to #6 - aerosol (04/02/2013) [-]
It's not fair, but there's really not much we can do about it apart from trying to set a good example. I suppose that's what I'm trying desperately to do.
User avatar #10 to #7 - vixenmacabre (04/02/2013) [-]
Yeah, setting a good example... It's kind of what I want to do for the girls on here. I might have failed a bit but I just want them to see that they shouldn't put each other down at the very least.
#12 to #10 - aerosol (04/02/2013) [-]
Of the few girls I've met on FJ, they all seem so nice. I've even made good friends with some. It really would be nice if they could be as outspoken as you without having to worry about making into an argument.
User avatar #14 to #12 - vixenmacabre (04/02/2013) [-]
Ahaha yeah I hate arguing over the internet. I just want to carefully discuss the **** out of things.
User avatar #15 to #14 - aerosol (04/02/2013) [-]
Me too! Especially when it comes to matters of social justice. Some people hate to think about big topics like gender inequality and human nature, but I love it. I just love the feeling of ending a conversation with the sense that I've grown just a bit wiser and more tolerant of someone who thinks differently than me. It gives me hope in a subtle way.
User avatar #16 to #15 - vixenmacabre (04/02/2013) [-]
I know what you mean... It's hard to find that. Most people just don't reply or end with a troll and it's so unsatisfying because I was only saying what I know and they leave me with nothing. I like to think they are just angry about what I've said and it will eventually simmer into new knowledge. But it's good to get a response though and have something to think about myself (other than the fact that I should be back in the kitchen, haha).

But yeah, it's good to learn. I hope that someone might have learned from me, maybe they've taken a look through a different perspective, even if it was brief and painful for them (It seems to be sometimes, lol).

You've been really great btw! If you ever feel like discussing gender inequality I'm here!
