I remember a talk on the radio back in, like, October about this. They were discussing whether or not he should be kicked. I think whatever's happened now is something else.

I dunno if GeeDubs is compensating for something or what, but their models have gotten huge. They released a new Tyranid heavy support that was the size of one of their Gargantuan creatures.

It has gotten really cool, just puts a hurting on the ole wallet.
User avatar #155 - atomschlumpf (03/11/2015) [-]
The whole point is that the huge new models are cool and expensive. Many people really only buy GW stuff because of rule of cool. Can't really exclude myself, I bought an Imperial Knight the day it came out

Fuck Riptides, tho. As if Tau aren't really OP already
User avatar #172 - captainwow (03/11/2015) [-]
Same friend I mentioned earlier with the FW Riptide used to have 3, he sold 'em cause nobody wanted to play against 'em.

And yeah I agree, Tau are OP as fuck. I play Tyranids, so it's basically an auto-loss when I set up against them. Them, and Eldar are really broken.
User avatar #174 - atomschlumpf (03/11/2015) [-]
Fucking marker lights everywhere, buffing everything beyond broken.

With the new spore units tho can't you use them like Drop Pods?
#175 - captainwow (03/11/2015) [-]
The Tyrannocyte! Yeaahh I need to get my fat greasy hands on some of those. The 6th edition book for Nids was terrible. It was an ultra-nerf fest that took out a lotta things, one of them being our drop pods. In fact the book was so terrible, that GeeDub's stocks dropped 33% and they've been trying to salvage it since. So they released a new Forgeworld MC that nobody wants/can afford, two new regular MCs, one decent one terrible, and finally, gave us the big beautiful Tyrannocyte, which is actually a good amount better than the old Mycetic spores, but more points. The model is also big, beautiful, and selling out like crazy. Maybe they'll recover a bit from that massive sales drop.
User avatar #176 - atomschlumpf (03/11/2015) [-]
Yeah I think that was around when GW purged everything that didn't have a model I think. Mostly because Chapterhouse Studios and others cashed in massively for models GW didn't care to produce. Man, they make so many retarded business decisions....

Yeah, lately the new stuff has really been cool but that's really most of the improvement there is....well, we'll have to see if they can recover from the damage they've done to themselves because it really is quite severe
User avatar #179 - captainwow (03/11/2015) [-]
GeeDubs isn't allowed to go out of business until they make a good Tyranid codex. With ARTWORK, none of this photographed models shit

I've always seen Riptides perform well, unlike the Wraithknight it's a monstrous creature you cannot afford to ignore. A buddy of mine has a special one from Forgeworld, really cool model and vaporized a whole Carnifex brood in one round of shooting.
