They've said that they want to focus on walkers they already have for a while rather than bring in more new ones, especially at the rate they have. Three new walkers in RTR, two in Theros, two in Tarkir. It's crazy.

I don't see a reprint really ever being necessary. However, I would love for Ashiok to make a return in the story. A walker with such a cool concept and unique design space isn't one that I'd like to see passed over.

My friend, who started the game with me, always plays control (as a result, I'm good at playing against control so I guess that's a bonus). Right now, it's U/B Thopter Control. Which unfortunately includes Ashiok, whom I'm always so hesitant to kill.
