Probably seems like I would
In reality, I had thought for a while about joining the military. The training and incredible amount of hard work that it takes to make it through the special forces training is absolutely inspiring. I do not by any means claim that it seems easy, and considering the things they have to do, I would be horrified if I thought it were easy in the slightest while in training. I ended up deciding against enlisting and am instead going to purse a career in law enforcement and ultimately ending up in the FBI to work on violent crime cases. Maybe counter terrorism.
The reason I decided against joining is that I didn't want to fight in a war in which things seem too shady for me to personally commit. I almost joined though. The way that the North Koreans are treated is horrible enough to where I could see myself joining if it meant that we may be able to help them.
My main goal is to help people, and if that means I spend years training in the most harshest ways there are, I WILL do it. At this point in time, I don't see it being my only option.
