Just lots of looking at computer parts and taking your time reading up on what parts do and what makes them better.
And I am the son of a computer hardware and software designer, so that helps

Must have been an interesting childhood (no sarcasm intended). The problem with me is that I can get distracted fairly easily. 4 years back I started to learn HTML and finished the basics, all I had to do was to get into the details. Needless to say I have not finished it yet.

Well i got shit tons of computer stuff all over my house, but other than that its normal.
And I feel you with the programming. I just never get the motivation to ever go far in a language ( or even start it in some cases)

Funny thing is that the reason why I started was because of the website that tell you to do survey to continue to browse them. It really peeved me off, so I got a brilliant idea of bypassing that step so I could look at the content. Till this day I've got bookmarks of some of them.

well, it's pretty, but it's quite expensive. you oughtta put windows 7 on it, and just to let you know, touchscreen computers are basically useless, I have one, and there isnt a single fingerprint on it.

like I said earlier, apple iMacs are about $2000, with actual graphics cards in them, so you can play any game you want, if you install windows, which is easy.

It will take you to an Australian site. By the way I was told by one of the employees that a newer model will be coming out. She didn't say what exactly will the components inside it will be but she kept on repeating "Quad core i7". It was good repetition but really annoying.

Well shit, thanks for telling me

Get a AMD 8350 4.0 Ghz eight core CPU instead
and an AMD compatible motherboard
and then 16GB of 1600ghz(or faster) RAM

Everything else is fine, but with the GPU point more towards the 7950 or the GTX 760

If you don't mind me asking how excatly are people able to judge which components are better than the other. If you have a link that explains it, that would also be alright.

meh, i'd go all in one if you dont like games but they're practical. i've owned a couple, and its nice to only have to unplug it and plug it in somewhere else. but thats it.

also, if you know what you're doing, you could swap out the innards of the all in one computer to put in a new Haswell chip and make that computer run games as good as a an HD 5750 could.

I'm favourating this for later use just in case. I would post a relevant pic also (I'm sure I have one) but seeing as I've got a shit ton loads for reaction pic. and I'm feeling kinda lazy today I'm not going to. Thanks anyway bro.

Well im going to assume you are just talking about regular Uni stuff, and not engineering or programming or something
But basically, if you are going to build get:
A Quad core CPU
8 GB (2x4) 1600 ghz DDR3 RAM
A good motherboard
a good 600 Watt power supply
a good 1 TB Hard drive
and then a case with good airflow
For GPU I personally recommend a Radeon 7950, Radeon 7870, or a GTX 760 if you like Nvidea stuff more

Sorry mate but you got the assumptions wrong. I'm doing Civil/Infrastructural engineering, it requires me to extensively use AUTOCAD and what not. I'n the semester that I'm going to start we'll be doing surveying, so maybe there might be another software I'll have to get (I'm am quite frankly not looking forward to it).
