I wonder who the real tool is. Hmm............

>wants everyone to understand his point of view
>pushes his viewpoint like a baptist priest trying to convert an atheist.
>anyone clashing with his POV is a tool

Makes total sense. Good thing 99% of the masses understand my POV

I agree, wearing a military uniform is disrespect, but I think there is a fine line between a regular ACU and a actual Military uniform, I mean you wouldn't blink an eye seeing some guy walk around in some olive fatigues or some woodland camo, but at one point they were both military uniforms, I think what makes them actually military are the patches, otherwise they're just camo.

I think you can still wear an ACU and whatnot and not be disrespecting the Armed services as a whole, just a plain ACU isn't claiming to have done anything at that point, if you start putting unit patches, and ranks I would see that as devaluing the importance of those things, but I just see the ACU by itself as just camo.
User avatar #58 - tylerconnell (09/07/2013) [-]
Yes correct. I am prior 11B in the US Army, now going Naval Officer. ACU's were always worn outside of base and even on vacations. They were so common the paintball and airsoft teams adopted them while around base and they started adding unit patches from the 1st and 4th ID. That is when I flipped my shit. But ACU is such a common pattern that they even put it on backpacks now a days. But that is beyond the point. I don't believe it is illegal to wear a military uniform as a civilian, but I view it as disrespect.

I'm not familiar with the Navy so I can't really speak for that uniform, i'd prefer if people didn't display a certain branch they're not in just out of respect but in the end if they're trying to make some sort of personal gain on it they'll get their shit pushed in.
User avatar #55 - tylerconnell (09/07/2013) [-]
EXACTLY! See that's what I mean. Respect. Plain and simple, it is something that is unspoken to me and my shipmates, but to the rest of the population it is something completely different, and that's ok. That is why we have freedom!

"Unless you have any active military experience you cannot form an opinion on it."

The Uniform is a tool, everyone from a cook to the most elite special forces wears the same thing and as such isn't a form of prestige, you can get camo gear anywhere, the patches are what matter.
User avatar #52 - tylerconnell (09/07/2013) [-]
Even better to reinforcing my opinion. Everyone will form an opinion on it whether it be positive, negative, or neutral.
