yeah they call them H-6's (horizontally opposed) instead of boxers.
maybe they didnt want it to get confused with their boxer model.

the reason why they call it boxer is because the pistons move like a boxer's fists. The H is the actual configuration, like L for inline ( 4 cylinder cars, 6 cylinder skylines, supras, most BMW's) and V, like most american muscle cars or sedans with 6,8,10 or 12 cylinder engines. seen from above, it looks like an H, if you know wat i mean

I dont think subarus have boxer engines but the good thing about them is that theyre low and flat which keeps the center of gravity in check and better handling.
