Than you have an excuse.

But that's another thing. The rules for who can donate or not are way too strict.

Not really, they are keeping the blood supply free of any possible issues. That way someone who receives the blood doesn't end up with something that can kill em. Like that little girl who got a smoker's lung or something like that and ended up with cancer a year or so later and died.

That's not the same, though. There are lots of idiotic rules for who can and can't donate. Like if you've paid for sex, you can't donate blood. They test it anyway, so what's the big deal?

I would understand it if it wasn't for the fact that we need 30.000 more people who donate blood. That's A LOT of people in my country.

Because a few STDs are undetectable until they start showing up on the body.

Just remember there are rules like them for a reason. I'm sure you can stop by a donation place and ask them about the rules if you're wanting to know why.

Well, go talk to a recruiter. They will take you to take the ASVAB, which is an entry exam that will test you over your knowledge of various things (Math, Science, Mechanics, English etc) and you'll get a score that will give you a list of jobs you can have in the military. Then once you take the asvab you will fill out some paperwork (background info, proof of citizenship and medical) and then once everything is cleared by MEPS (Military Entrance Processing Station) you will head down for a full physical, blood work and a piss test. Once cleared of all that and you get the "good to go" you'll pick a job, work out a contract and swear in. Then wait for the date you'll be carted off to basic.

As for the Navy part, I'm working on getting into it myself. Since I have a prior medical issue with one of my ears I have to work all that out. It's been six months or so already and I've been working with the SpecWar Scout since I'm going for Navy EOD.

Ah, fair enough, they need to keep their damn heat to themselves, I'm in Philadelphia complaining about 80 degree weather.
