I feel that the NMS crew might actually be making the mods themselves.
These mods only came out 1 week after release....

Maybe they're bypassing sony's system to enhance the game without getting into licensing issues. Modders take severa months to study the coding system.

Also, the modding is too conveniently easy.
You just drag a PAK file in there and it works. Thats literally all it is.
No replacements, no deleting, no script editing. It's automatic mods without consequences of bricking the game.

I am suspicious.

That's literally how most popular modding works. Bethesda Games, Source Games, etc. are literally just drag 'n' drop, and Bethesda has everything tied up nicely whereas Source Games are just folders.

Why is it such a conspiracy?

Because there's no file replacement or renaming.
It's the weirdest thing I've seen in ages.

There's no file replacement or renaming in any of the games I mentioned either.

This has been a thing since before 2004. Just like people who immediately start modding a game before they even play it.
Pull your head out of that rock and you'd see this isn't even close to being a new thing.

Me, what I saw as "the bigger plot" was that there was a drive to terraform the galaxy as a means of forming an empire.

Think of Asimov's ROBOTS & EMPIRE series or the aftermath of a fallen galactic empire in the Asimov FOUNDATION books.

The most recent book declared that the reason why no intelligent alien life was found was because the robots "who cared only about HUMAN life" were basically ruthless exterminators of non-human life. The robots then dismantled and eradicated every trace of non-human intelligence along with any secondary lifeforms that could possibly harm humans. Leaving habitable worlds for the Spacers, but no dangers for them.

In NO MANS SKY, the visited galaxy is lifeless and almost zero conflict because the expansive waves of terraforming bots laid down the support structures for terraforming and moved on. The weird bio-flood animals are not intended for later colonists to use, but to overpopulate the target worlds and crowd out the native life. Then the bio-flood animals die, leaving only stock type human-exploitable food or surface mineral sources (plants which roots target uranium and convert them to plutonium). Turing a harsh human-unfriendly world into one tempered for optimal human survival.

The "traders" are the sparse alien lifeforms who escaped the terraform robot wave and are pointlessly trying to reclaim their worlds.
The player is an eager explorer trying to archive alien documents and history prior to the second robot terraform expansion wave which makes more complex infrastructure for later human colonists. That is why so many dead sparse-diversity worlds have life support pods (orbital drop ship dump then move to the next world) all over them.

Any space pirates or conflicts would be intelligent alien life trying to reclaim worlds flooded with robot-engineered bioforms hostile to the original inhabitants.
Essentially this is a huge Space Invasion movie where our robots won, but the average human has no idea of the brutal ruthless terraform proxy war enacted on our behalf under "allowing no human to come to harm by action or inaction" (alien species don't count as "human" so they can all be destroyed -- allowing a human to come to harm by "inaction" would be leaving any aliens alive that could ever enact harm against humans -- and humans would never be allowed to know an intergalactic genocide of all alien life was committed for their sole species benefit because this could cause EMOTIONAL HARM).

If theyre going to do that, id like the price to go back down to a nifty 20$ or 30$ like in the old ps2 days

That's true.
That's why Steam (and potentially GoG) is the best model out there right now. The most expensive game I've ever purchased on steam was maybe $12 at most, and it had all the DLC. I've spent so many hours of my life playing quality games, and if there's ever a problem there's tons of community guides. If the problem persists, modding is always an option. Fuck man, the transition blew my mind. Still does. So much freedom.
