Punk is a pretty open genre and many punks label everything as punk that includes the right themes, ignoring the music. At least that´s how I see it happen around here.

Yeah, it happens a lot. One example I can think of right now are Astroid Boys. Small Rap group from England, yet everytime I´ve seen them it´s been at a hardcore or hardcore punk show. And Punk especially is pretty open to accepting weird shit into their genre.

Just as a heads up, that is not a LVAD, it is a full artificial heart, an LVAD assists the left ventricle.

Also your arteries and veins do form a closed loop. Left ventricle> arteries> arterioles> capillaries> venules> veins> right atrium> right ventricle> pulmonary arteries> alveoli*> pulmonary veins> left atrium> left ventricle again.

Also the alveoli are in the lungs and only exchange gasses and water vapor, not blood or ATP. the capillaries is where nutrients are exchanged with the cells.

Also, For all of those interested, this artificial heart still simulates a heartbeat, so you would still have a pulse.

On the down side, they performed about 15 of these, with only one patient ever going home, and an average life expectancy of about 5 months.

Ah I see. Thanks! I was just curious is all. The most recent home research I've done on cardiovascular science is things like ghost hearts and stuff like that

That's cool and all, but how does that make someone have no idea? I can believe in a mechanical heart, but wouldn't we still need a new? Because that's our blood surging into our veins, isn't it?

The point of an lvad is to replace the heart. Your veins don't physically loop back and forth but blood, oxygen, atp and other things are exchanged through the alvioli, alveolar cells etc. Basically, the blood does make a full "loop" of your entire body.

The purpose of the lvad is to have a small turbine that circulates it for you, rather than relying on your heart to pump it naturally.
