no prob man, i'm always accepting other A7X fans :D how long have you listened to them?

Well I'll be honest, I've been a fan since City of Evil back in '05 but Nightmare has taken a while to grow on me and I've only really been listening to that for a few months lol. It just seemed like a boring version of waking the fallen when I heard it first. But, finally I've learned to enjoy it haha!

I liked city of evil, and waited for the self titled "Avenged Sevenfold" and at the time, I thought it sucked but it grew on me and then it was the same story with Nightmare haha! What's your favourite album?

oh man, you had to ask me that? haha! it's a really hard choice, but i think i'll go for self titled. but my favorite songs is in nightmare and waking the fallen (nightmare and unholy confession/second heartbeat)

Haha, well I'd say Nightmare personally, I hate the thought that maybe the album would have been better if The Rev was alive to do the whole thing because his death changed how the songs came out. Fiction, for example was unfinished, and Buried Alive was written with the intention of having The Rev sing backing vocals. It is eerie though in songs like Fiction... Fiction and Save Me would be much better songs if it weren't for The Rev's death.

i was not aware of that. but isn't it The Rev who sing through whole Fiction? and whispers in Save me? but yeah you got a point, The Revs death changed it, even i noticed it :P it would be awesome to hear The Rev as backup at Buried Alive...

i forgot to say that one of my other favorites is So Far Away

Yeah, he sings in most of Fiction but the song was supposed to be a bit longer with better vocals from The Rev (They are a little rough at parts if you listen) and he is in Save me, but the songs became about his death, and I think we would be able to enjoy the songs on so many more levels if his death didn't overshadow it all, if that makes sense?

I love So Far Away because it's written by Syn, and Syn and The Rev were the closest friends ever... :( I mean they were all one big family, but they were best friends since they were kids and Syn would have been worst affected by Rev's death. Apparently, the song was originally written about Syn's grandfather but the song became about The Rev later on. But I saw an interview where Syn says that they once got drunk and listened to So Far Away on repeat and just started crying together at the song. Just Syn and Rev :(

that gave me a feel man. but you said that they got drunk and listened to it, does that mean The Rev played the drum part?
#13 to #12 - fukkendragonite (05/09/2012) [-]
Not in that song I don't think, it will have been the rough demo version I guess but you obviously need the drums to be recorded in the studio, and they didn't start recording in the studio until after his death.

On the other hand, I don't actually know! Maybe it is actually him drumming on that one song! That would be awesome to be honest because then it's truly his song.

i heard he ACTUALLY played Nightmare at the demo version, and they said he was proud of it... kinda sad.

but is it something i wonder about is how he died? there is so many different stories. enlarged heart, drugs, natural causes... wasn't it medicine with alochol?
#15 to #14 - fukkendragonite (05/09/2012) [-]
Yeah, he had a massive impact on the album even before there was an album... :S

And it was a Brompton Cocktail... Oddly enough... O_O He was on medication for an enlarged heart and he got drunk and accidentally took a little too much of his meds (NOT enough for an OD) and it proved a deadly combo with the alcohol in his system. People say he died trying to get high, or he OD'd etc... Not true. But it was a brompton cocktail which is a deadly combo of drugs and alcohol, which led some people to say it was a possible suicide, with the song Brompton Cocktail being his way of warning people before he did it, and Fiction being his goodbye song since he handed the song to them 3 days before his death.

that man worked in mysterious ways dude o.O and we all gonna miss him :/ but i really wished it wasn't him... he was also too young

Lol that picture! :P

And yeah, they also did say it wasn't the drummer issue that they had, it was the friend issue. They had no problem working with another drummer, it's just that they found it hard to be in the studio without him, it felt "empty" is what they all said. Everything was kind of quiet because he was the loud fun loving guy who was always the center of attention in the room.

yeah, as Matt said: The Rev was always the best man in a wedding, everybody loved him. man they have gone through some ****... and as you said, Syn got really hurt, losing a best friend.
