First, he's not assuming women wear these things for males and moving on from there to make other points. He's demonstrating that they do, in fact, wear them, for men either directly or indirectly (intra-straight female competition) through the points he's making.

Second, your argument about lesbians is a fallacy. It's called an argument from exception. Lesbians make up less than 1% of the population. So the RULE is straight women, so what he's saying applies to 99% of women in principle. What you're doing is a red herring.

Third, the argument (not so much mentioned by you, but by others) of women doing it for other (straight) women, or for themselves:
Doing it for other straight women is a intra-female competition for the attention of men. She's essentially showing other women that her status is higher than that other woman, because she can attract more positive attention from men.
Doing it for yourself: there's two kinds of dressing good. (cont.)

(cont.) 1st kind is dressing presentably but modestly, and putting on light make up so your face doesn't look like shit. That I can accept it being for yourself, or for others to get their respect and that this way is non-sexual. Example: a professional secretary attire.
The 2nd kind is dressing sexily and attractively, accentuating curves, increasing cleavage through push-up bras, partially revealing secondary sexual characteristics, wearing make-up that simulates high-fertility/ovulation (e.g. red lipstick). That look is sexual and is attractive. Attractive to who? to men as a rule.

A valid point. I just assume that OP just put "males" so that he didn't have to put "whatever sexuality they are attracted to".
