Haha, we have similar definitions then. :P

Ah, okay, derp. Text sounds good, I'll PM you my number!

Haha x3

I went to put your name in, and realised I didn't know it >_<
I feel bad. Is it... Jack? #goldfish
Well better now than tomorrow :P

Haha, yeah, it's Jack. :P

I kinda feel bad too though... Richie?

We both got it right!
That's wonderful.

Sent you a text, that's my number for you too. There we go.

Haha, I liked it. :P

Huh, interesting. What A levels are you doing?

Ha, thanks. Yeah, unless I completely **** up my personal statement I should be mostly alright for any Uni, really. :P

Well in years 10 and 11, I'm doing the AS for ICT, then I'll do the A2 in lower 6th, giving me the fourth A level.
And then probably biology chemistry and maths. Maybe physics instead of maths, can't quite decide.

I'm not surprised x3 Well good luck with it.
Did you need to work particularly hard?
User avatar #2362 to #2361 - therealpangbot
(09/21/2012) [-]
Huh, that's an interesting way to do an A level. I commend you on doing 4, it's not exactly a barrel of fun. :P

Haha, thanks.
Hmm... I had really good AS results so that helped with the second year a LOT. As for the second year I kinda dropped a bit, I put the same sort of effort I put into my GCSEs and I got what I was predicted (except for chemistry but I REALLY gave up on that XD) so it wasn't that bad, really.
User avatar #2363 to #2362 - wiredguy
(09/21/2012) [-]
I wanna do 5, but they won't let me :c
This is nothing compared to my dad... Guess how many higher qualifications he did? That's the right term for A level, right? I dunno, you know what I mean.

Yeah, I do think it's bigged up a lot, especially for people with some intelligence. If anything the GCSEs st least are a little too easy :P
Languages are basically memory tests, humanities don't actually require much knowledge of the subject and sciences give you like an hour too much time. That's why I feel for people who do arts x3
But yeah, nicely done, really. What did you get at GCSE? If you can remember.
User avatar #2364 to #2363 - therealpangbot
(09/21/2012) [-]
Haha, and you call me crazy! :P
I have no idea, surprise me.

Haha, yeah, I'm really glad I'm into science. :3

A* - Maths, Physics
A - Biology, English Literature
B - English Language, Chemistry, Latin, German, History
C - Ancient Greek XD
My knowledge is very specific. :P
User avatar #2365 to #2364 - wiredguy
(09/21/2012) [-]
Shhh >_<
Something like, 12, or 13. He can't remember. Passed them all as well, only spent 4 weeks studying Geography, got an E. Haha, still counts as a pass.

Sciences are the best :P
Like, half my friends want to do politics at A level... WTF? I hope they'll change their minds, that would be **** to be around.

Nice x3
I wish I'd done Greek, but I was too ill... We have to do it in lunch breaks if we take the class, there isn't room for it on the timetable, but it means we can take it extra, so it's +1 qualification.
So why'd you choose to do Chemistry at A level?
User avatar #2366 to #2365 - therealpangbot
(09/21/2012) [-]
Wow... that's... insane. XD

Bleh! Yeah, definitely!

Yeah, we had to do it in lunch breaks and after school. 3 of us in the year did it and I got the lowest grade because **** da revision! :P
Uhhh, it was an extra, it was fun. It never was vital for me to do it to A2 (had to do 4 AS though) but I liked it... mostly... and then it got hard and a bit boring. XD
User avatar #2367 to #2366 - wiredguy
(09/21/2012) [-]
Yeah x3
Have I gone on rants about how insanely clever everyone but me in my paternal family is before? Probably :P

Science brings us computers, medicine, entertainment, great things like space travel; what do the humanities do? Lots, but it's not quite the same x3

Haha, aw yeah x3
I can imagine, worth it though? :P
It would just be soo useful for medical school applications ;_;
User avatar #2368 to #2367 - therealpangbot
(09/21/2012) [-]
Pff, I'm sure you're clever too. Engineering and medicine aren't exactly easy fields of study. :P

Yeah... plus I always prefer having a proper answer rather than a wishy-washy argument.

Yeah, it was alright. My teachers were like "yeah, you could probably get an A in chemistry!" ...nope.avi XD
Yeeeaaah, chemistry is a must have for medicine. Turns out, biology? Not so much. :P
If it's at all possible to get work experience in medicine near you, DEFINITELY go for it. Same goes for practise interviews.
#2369 to #2368 - wiredguy
(09/21/2012) [-]
You know you're a bigoted twat when medicine doesn't feel smart enough for the acts you have to follow. But oh well.

Yes, exactly!
And even when the answer is debatable, or unknown, there has to be an element of the definite in there somewhere. There is little opinion to science, which is good, because me an opinions don't mix very well.

Derp, I thought you were still talking about Greek back there :P
But right, hah, I get it. That sucks though, but oh well, you didn't really need it in the end :P

But yeah, chemistry too. It's the only thing you really need for med school.
And yeah, I know all of this already... >_<
#2370 to #2369 - therealpangbot
(09/21/2012) [-]
Haha, wow, well screw the acts you have to follow, just focus on what you actually WANT to do! :P
Haha, yep. I've never been big on opinions myself either.
Ah, I see. :P But yeah, it was just an extra. A*AA can get me pretty damn far. :P
Heh, just making sure. It's definitely not something to consider lightly after all! I know a few people who were crying after their practise interviews... that was fun to observe...

#2371 to #2370 - wiredguy
(09/21/2012) [-]
If I just focused on what I wanted to do, I don't think I'd do very well, hehe.

They're flimsy.

Indeed, especially with those subjects. At my school they won't even let you take the maths A level unless you get an A or A* at IGCSE x3

Hah, that's pretty funny. Practice interviews... Hm.
I'm hoping my exam and test results will be enough to outweigh how much of an idiot I am in person.
#2372 to #2371 - therealpangbot
(09/21/2012) [-]
Hehe, focus on what academically, you want to do. :P

Heh, interesting. Mine just advised not to do A levels in subjects you got lower than a B in at GCSE.

Heh, as long as you put the effort in, I'm sure you'll do fine. :)
User avatar #2374 to #2372 - wiredguy
(09/21/2012) [-]
Haha, yeah, I know :P

I go to a posh as hell school though :/
You have to get at least 6 Bs to even go to 6th form.
What about you, anything of the sort?

Yeah, that's what everyone says.
I'm just worried I don't know how. I've never needed effort for anything before. And that's a pretty bold statement, but at least I'm not claiming it as a good thing.
Maybe if I **** my GCSEs up a little bit I can knock myself into form xD
User avatar #2377 to #2374 - therealpangbot
(09/21/2012) [-]
...Yeah, private school. Needed at least 9 Bs to get into 6th form...

Haha, that's... pretty true for me, too. AS will be pretty easy but A2 is different, I was lagging a bit about half way through A2 and realised I needed to up my game so that's when I actually started applying myself properly. :P
Heh, yeah, I kinda wish I did better in my GCSEs but they don't really matter anymore, not when you have your A levels. :3
User avatar #2381 to #2377 - wiredguy
(09/21/2012) [-]
Really? Hah, someone who's school is (was) posher than mine x3 Where'd you go?
We do 10 subjects though. But I only get 8 GCSEs, sucks. You did 9 right, minus Greek? That's a pretty high standard.

Yeah, I think it is for a lot of people online. And I can imagine, typical, make it easier up through AS then tip it into the necessary quality for A2. Nicely done though, I'll be lucky if that happens :P
Indeed, no Universities really care about GCSEs x3
User avatar #2384 to #2381 - therealpangbot
(09/21/2012) [-]
Haha, it's called Cheadle Hulme School. Blazers, ties, all the way from age 4 to 18. XD
Huh, that is sucky. Yeah, normal people do 9 subjects to get 9 GCSEs. It's a very good school though. :3

Haha, if you're smart enough to realise when you're lagging behind, you'll do what's right and you'll be fine. :P
User avatar #2388 to #2384 - wiredguy
(09/21/2012) [-]
Same here x3 ******* blazers. Ew.
I can imagine, you'd have thought so with the A level requirements :P

I'm lagging behind in Latin right now. I've been ill for 6 years, that's all of secondary school for me. I've missed a lot and Latin seems to be the only subject I can't keep up with ;_;

Also, I should sleep soon. I need to be up early so I can cut my hair.

So like... When, what, where? Tomorrow.
Derp, words r hard.
You know what I mean.
User avatar #2389 to #2388 - therealpangbot
(09/21/2012) [-]
Wow... feels bad man. Maybe you should apply yourself in Latin then? :P

Haha, I'm sure it's not as bad as you're making it out to be but I'll let you get some rest. :P

XD About 2pm at some Starbucks or something similar. We can work out exactly where later. :P
User avatar #2391 to #2389 - wiredguy
(09/21/2012) [-]
I could get a B without revising anything but the set texts. And that's my definition of being horribly behind in a subject.

You. Have. No. Idea.
I have a proper, genuine, jewfro...

Hah, fine, but how? Is my point x3

It goes good, currently nice and cosy in my hotel room. :3 And yourself?

Yep! That should be over with by around 1pm or so tomorrow.

(09/21/2012) [-]
Hah, nice :P
I like staying in hotels. And yeah I'm good thanks.

I'll probably walk up to the center, it takes about 40-50 minutes, but I'm used to doing it in a blazer and carrying a ******** of books, so it should be fine :P
I haven't gotten hold of Hector yet... I'll find him tomorrow morning, if he doesn't have a rugby match I assume he'll be free.

Sorry for being so useless.
#2344 to #2343 - therealpangbot
(09/21/2012) [-]
Oh, I love hotels. :3 And good to hear!

Haha, okay, sounds good!
Ah, okay. I tried to get a hold of him today on steam but missed him by about 45 minutes. >.< But don't worry about it, everything will sort itself out in the end. :P
#2345 to #2344 - wiredguy
(09/21/2012) [-]
And you :P

Yeah, I missed him by just over an hour. I texted him earlier, so he knows you're coming, but it's out of charge so I can't see the reply.
Then I realised I was at home.
Phone's on charge now...

I hate antibiotics so ******* much.
#2346 to #2345 - therealpangbot
(09/21/2012) [-]
Haha, addled brain state is best brain state. :P

Well, good to hear, let me know the result when it's charged. (Assuming there is a definitive result. :P)

Well. I'll try my best x3

Also. Checked my inbox nothing.
Checked my sent. Also nothing.
Well then...

I'll text him again now, he's still awake, just not online...
#2350 to #2349 - therealpangbot

Huh... interesting...

Haha, alright then!
#2351 to #2350 - wiredguy
(09/21/2012) [-]
You know what else?
I went to the Doctor's today. I am completely healthy. I have some unidentifiable cough, which is probably viral. No discolouration of sputum or anything.
"Hey, take another 3.5 days of the antibiotics, that will help everything!"
Ah well, I guess he does know best.

So what have you been up to recently, touring universities I guess?
#2352 to #2351 - therealpangbot
(09/21/2012) [-]
Heh, supposedly. :P Well, hopefully it should clear up soon!

You'd have thought so, but no. For some stupid reason, it turns out almost all of the universities I'm interested in have their open day tomorrow. I could only choose one so I chose to visit Bristol!

As for what I have been up to: I went to see bobolov a bit ago, starting to get a CV together and I've been working out finances for my gap year. How's school been?
User avatar #2353 to #2352 - wiredguy
(09/21/2012) [-]
I clicked on this alert before even a minute had passed, tabbed over to Skype and forgot about it, sorry >_<

Yeah, it'll be fine, thanks :P

That's kind of annoying... I wonder how that happened? Eh.
Good choice x3
What's your course, actually? I don't think you've ever said.

Yeah I heard. And that sounds good, how exactly do you go about making a CV? And ouch, finances :P

Eh, unfulfilling. Everything is piss easy apart from Latin and English.
Took a career aptitude test today. Results should be interesting.
User avatar #2354 to #2353 - therealpangbot
(09/21/2012) [-]
Heh, it's fine. :P

Eh, stupid universities.
Err, in general, physics. More specifically, theoretical physics. :3

It's quite easy really, you just write down facts about yourself. (skills, grades, whatever) Yeah... need about £2k in 5/6 months so I really need a job. :P

Heh, well, it's better than everything being too hard. :P
Yeah, should be! Do you have any sort of idea of what you want to do?
User avatar #2355 to #2354 - wiredguy
(09/21/2012) [-]
Thanks x3

OOH o3o
Ver' nice.

Sounds pretty simple :P
It's a shame all the best stuff I've done isn't officially recorded, hah. What sort of stuff do you have on there, anything interesting?

Medicine, possibly through the army. As a second option, I'm torn between engineering of some kind and something like biochemistry. Or medical engineering, hah, could be a good compromise.

So what A levels did you do? Or whatever it is you did, IB maybe.
User avatar #2356 to #2355 - therealpangbot
(09/21/2012) [-]
Haha, thanks. Most people just look at me like I'm crazy when I tell them that. :P

Uuh, 3 years of karate and 2 years of being a paperboy... haha. :P

Huh, sounds very interesting.

Yeah, I did A levels: Maths (A*), further maths (A), physics (A) and chemistry (C, lol).
User avatar #2357 to #2356 - wiredguy
(09/21/2012) [-]
Oh, you are. But in the best way possibly.

Sounds promising x3

If failure is interesting, sure.

You did 4 A2s, or did you drop the chemistry? :P
User avatar #2358 to #2357 - therealpangbot
(09/21/2012) [-]
...Thanks? :P Haha.

Eh, it's something. :P

Meh, medicine's hard to get into but engineering isn't quite as hard, do well and you'll be fine! :P

Yep, 4 A2s... because I'm crazy...
User avatar #2359 to #2358 - wiredguy
(09/21/2012) [-]
I'm not good with compliments x3

More than me :3

Yeah. But if I want to do Engineering, I'll have to decide before the end of this year, or take a gap year and study for another A level during that time.

Nice, that's pretty damn impressive, especially with the grades x3
I'm doing 4 as well.
