These were people from all walks of life. It was a mix of races. It was a mix of economic backgrounds. 47% of them came from households without a father. It was a mix of future prospects, with 33% of them saying they probably wouldn't go to college. They're not all going to be exceptional people who run things now, plenty of them are going to be average or below average.

As for whether they'd carry out these views of theirs, consider if they even still have them. Over these past 35 years of life experience and the changes in our society, it's completely possible they grew up and learned some things that they didn't know when they were just 14 and circling random answers on a sheet of paper for $5.
