The gun's still there, and it's known that if you defend yourself, you'll be tased and/or shot. As for the handcuffs, "a rose by any other name would smell as sweet"--they're chains. And the holding cell isn't used for long. Those arrested are either released or put into general population. I interned at a sheriff's office, and I got to see it all. People who aren't given or who can't afford bail are, in fact, tossed in with all the rest, even rapists and murderers.

It's a man with a gun putting chains around your wrists and putting you in a cage with rapists, assaulters, and murderers. And if you defend yourself from him, deadly force eventually comes into play for him, even though he's the aggressor.

I torrented Risk of Rain. Then I saw what a good game it was (and was too lazy to patch it myself), so I got it on steam for 7 euro.

I bought Legend of Dungeon on steam. Then I saw what a shitty game it was (compared to free roguelikes such as even BRogue) and wished I hadn't. Had I known what the game was, I wouldn't have bought it for 0.99 cent.
#130 - thepenname (12/26/2013) [-]
And although I haven't felt the need to do it yet, if I wasn't sure about a game and it didn't offer a demo I'd probably torrent it first before buying. Unless it's way on sale, then I might just take the risk.

It's enforced through the threat of violence by government, via the police. They say to give them money, and if you don't you get a strongly worded letter, and if you still don't then you get a knock on your door, followed by arrest--violence. And if you try to defend yourself from the men bursting into your home, they'll gun you down--more violence.

I have to stay in hotels all the time on business trips, and when I do the costs of food and whatnot are covered by the business i'm doing work for.

What does who's paying for the food have to do with whether you get groceries? You could just as well buy groceries with whatever money the company gives you as you could go out to eat with it. My brother usually did a mix of the two when he had to travel for work.

The problem is that many states have laws that stores can't be open certain days. This is to keep employers from essentially forcing you to work those days if you don't want to.

For example, if you work an 8 hour shift, you are required by law to take a 15 and 30 minute break. If you don't want to take those breaks and keep working, too bad. This is because if there wasn't a law, there would be employers encouraging people to skip breaks or get fired/passed over for promotion when people need those breaks to be healthy.

It's the same thing here. They ask you if you want to work those holidays, but I guarantee you that people who volunteer are more likely to get raises or promotions than people who don't.

I never understand the line of logic of persons such as yourself. There's always the occasional person who will repeat the same comment repeatedly across statuses, but you decide to pick the most offensive comment possible for each content and see what results you get. You may claim not to be a troll, but your commenting up to this point is somewhat contrary.

So honestly and non agressively i'd like to ask:

Sup broski? how's things?
