I just want to point out that even BoS disagreed with Lyons' policies. Thus the Brotherhood Outcasts (that were actually truer to BoS than Lyon's Steel). I didn't like the BoS in New Vegas either though.

I know. The Brotherhood in the first game was focused on helping the wasteland by gathering technology of all sorts and basically "giving back" to the wasteland through protection and trade. It became distorted as the brotherhood decided they were "helping" by keeping the advanced technology to themselves. Lyons decided to say fuck it all and become the fallout equivalent of a force fighting for the greater good, while the outcasts followed the "gathering of technology" kind of thing. Both sides represent the brotherhood, just different parts of it. Their original goal was to protect humanity and uncover technology to help humanity. Fallout: Tactics shows this to a good extent.

Brotherhood was a lot cooler in 1. Even though they were xenophobic to a small extent, they worked and traded with the hub and patrolled the wasteland to make sure the other communities survived. Fallout 3's Brotherhood was like "OH THEY WERE GOOD TO AN EXTENT IN THE ORIGINALS, LET'S MAKE THEM ULTRA SUPER GOOD IN THIS GAME". I still think they are alright, but still they need someone that intimidates like Rhombus from the first game.

I played vegas after the first two, it was nice, followed some of the old formula, but still vastly different, the nods to the old games were nice, but it still felt seperate from 1 and 2, I think what made the originals so good was the fact that FO2 was a direct sequel, you got to see the fruit the vault dweller planted
#32 - themarineelite (11/27/2014) [-]
Yeah. I also like the whole "saving the world thing" in the first 2 games as well. 3 was just like "Oh we're going to give freshwater to only DC" and New Vegas was like "Who's even less of an asshole to side with". Still I like what NCR was in 2, when it was still a relatively young political entity in the wasteland, still it went from good to meh in New Vegas, even though I find their Ranger armor sexy.

Fallout 2 is my favorite as well, then 1, vegas and 3
I was introduced with 3, and after playing the first two, I just started to resent 3, it was sort of a bastardization of the first two, changed so much, more than just the gameplay the entire world just seemed... literately post apocalyptic, like it took place a week after the war

3 is literally a chink in the armor of what fallout used to be. I started with 3 as well then played New Vegas. I like New Vegas more then 3 cause it follows the roots a little better. Fallout 1 and 2 just seemed more immersive, and the same can be said about New Vegas but not to the same effect.

Just found something, it's supposed to be a first-person shooter so sounds pretty promising!

There's already one, Space Hulk Ascension edition, it's a lot better than the simple boardgame adaption with a level up system to unlock new wargear for your Terminators. I suggest checking it out.

The footage above is from a trailor for I think Space Hulk: Deathwing. Sadly I can't find any ingame footage so I don't know how it's gonna be

Neat, I've picked up ascension already, that games a blast.

It looks to me like Deathwing is gonna be a first or third person shooter style game, which would be pretty awesome since I really enjoyed games like Space Marine and Fire Warrior (however inaccurate they are unit wise). If it is I really hope there's a multiplayer option. Nothing more fun than blasting some xenos with a few chums.

"Beta testers apparantly make a decent wage"

umm no... i rather shot myself in the foot than be a paid beta tester

u get payed less than 10$ an hour and u dont just play the game, they make u play the same level for hours upon hours upon hours, checking out every crack and every hole.. if there is a glitch and u don't find it. its on you

I've tried to get into Fallout 1, but everything is kind of confusing.
User avatar #50 - themarineelite (11/24/2014) [-]
The first 2 games are tough to get into. You will die ALOT, but once you get some of the good loot and perks, its satisfying to fuck up everything that made life tough for you earlier in the game. That being said, Fallout 2 will always remain my favorite fallout game. And if you can't get into the first game search up Fallout: The story. A group is recreating Fallout 1 in New Vegas.

It's funny because people think I'm serious.
