Yeah and? Doesn't make them a Christian group. They're just a group of mostly Christians

The Ku Klux Klan (KKK), or simply "the Klan", is the name of three distinct past and present movements in the United States that have advocated extremist reactionary currents such as white supremacy, white nationalism, anti-immigration, and, especially in later iterations, Nordicism, anti-Catholicism, and anti-Semitism, historically expressed through terrorism aimed at groups or individuals whom they opposed. All three movements have called for the "purification" of American society, and all are considered right wing extremist organizations.

The first Klan flourished in the Southern United States in the late 1860s, then died out by the early 1870s. It sought to overthrow the Republican state governments in the South during the Reconstruction Era, especially by using violence against African American leaders. With numerous chapters across the South, it was suppressed around 1871, through federal enforcement. Members made their own, often colorful, costumes: robes, masks, and conical hats, designed to be terrifying, and to hide their identities.

The second group was founded in 1915, and flourished nationwide in the early and mid-1920s, particularly in urban areas of the Midwest and West. It opposed Catholics and Jews, especially newer immigrants, and stressed opposition to the Catholic Church. This second organization adopted a standard white costume and used similar code words as the first Klan, while adding cross burnings and mass parades.

The third and current manifestation of the KKK emerged after 1950, in the form of small, local, unconnected groups that use the KKK name. They focused on opposition to the Civil Rights Movement, often using violence and murder to suppress activists. It is classified as a hate group by the Anti-Defamation League and the Southern Poverty Law Center. As of 2016, the Anti-Defamation League puts total Klan membership nationwide at around 3,000 while the Southern Poverty Law Center puts it at 6,000 members total.

The second and third incarnations of the Ku Klux Klan made frequent references to America's "Anglo-Saxon" blood, hearkening back to 19th-century nativism. Although members of the KKK swear to uphold Christian morality, virtually every Christian denomination has officially denounced the KKK.

Yes that's true but the more recent kkk is more pro white than anti black. Made the switch in the early 1900s. The Christan morality was always more secondary

And who gives a fuck, they terrorize anyone who isn't white regardless.

I'm not claiming that, or arguing that that's what they're doing

Relating to a character helps a lot to like them, but it's not the only thing required.
As in, I dont relate to Zarya at all, but i still like her as a character and her playstyle. if it turns out she prefers chicks, it wouldnt make me like her less.
It's kind of hard to completely relate to all the characters anyway. They're way too diverse for that.

That is true, but I'm saying having a character that you REALLY like playing and relate to.
I like 76. He's bland, he's vanilla, he's the stereotypical Cod cool guy, his playstyle is what has been in games before but it works REALLY well in overwatch. But I look at his backstory and what he went through and it gives me a Captain America/Punisher feel and I really like characters like that and really relate to characters like that.

Honestly wouldn't care at this point.
There's no overly gay shit being shoved in my face when i'm playing the game, so if a character that's currently in the game turns out to be gay, i wouldnt be bothered about it.
Unless they start adding new lines where a character goes "HEY LOOK AT ME I'M GAY". Zarya is already SJW proofing, since she's a big stronk russian woman. Might aswell add being a lesbian to that to become the ultimate shield. Kinda like if they went "We're making the cast diverse, black characters guaranteed!". If they do it like they did Lucio, it's going to be alright.

Fair enough, but, and it might just be subjective, likable characters come from relating to them. When someone slaps a sexual orientation on it, it can hinder relating to that character. That's what worries me.

Step it up. I main: tracer, lucio, mercy, hanzo, genji, roadhog, zarya, dva, soldier 76, reaper, zenyatta, torbjorn, widowmaker, mei, mcree and still play the rest. Rank 72 on comp. Top 30 on some characters. Git gud.

I'm surprised you don't solo main Reaper with all that edge.

Is it possible to main more than one character? In the fighting game community the one you play the most is your main and the others you play are called pocket characters. I'm not sure if the terms are any different for Overwatch.

You cannot be good at overwatch if you only main one character.
You'll get fucked if you don't pick a character your team needs.

#31 - heartlessrobot (07/06/2016) [-]
Okay, from what I've gathered, people pick 4-5 "mains" for Overwatch, typically an attacker, defender, tank, and support, and sometimes one extra of one.
