He was approached and asked how many volts of alternating current would it take to kill a man painlessly. I forget the exact number, but he said something around 10,000 for a minute. Instead of killing the death row prisoner, it popped his eyeballs, destroyed his lungs, ruptured his stomach, and fried every organ in his body. Except guess what? He wasn't dead. That's how Edison lost his name to everything, an example being General Electric. It used to be Edison General Electric

Multiple times after he tried to appeal to prisons to let him change the voltage and try on a human subject on death row again, claiming that if he got it right he'd get his business back. Edison was a hard piece of Shit who refused to accept that someone had improved upon "his" inventions by switiching to alternating current, and wouldn't do it himself because the initial switch would cost $1000 and he simply couldn't bear to lose a whole 1.4% profit that month. He was a greedy, dispicable Fuck who ruined every person he could and would have sold his own mother for $4 and a high five if given the opportunity

Dude get your facts straight.
It was 1000-1500 volts and that info came from Harold P. Brown, who was of like mind with Edison on AC due to some accident where some people got killed.
Second the prisoner's eyes did not pop or anything else you said. it just burst some blood vessels and burned some hair and skin.
Third GE got it's name because Edison General Electric merged with it's main competitor The Thomas-Houston Electric company. It was just easier to call it general electric than to put everyone's name in there.

Maybe you should learn what actually happened and abandon this irrational hatred of a man that did not wrong you in any way. Yes he truly screwed Tesla over, but that doesn't mean you should spread lies.

Nah, it really doesn't. But certain maps (like dust 2) there is a lot of stupid particles and stuff to make it hard to see across map.
That's not good.
But I guess for single player games it doesn't matter.

Yes, but for games like CS:GO (which I play, idk about gooby) it is much better to have low settings to not get distracted by particles and eye candy... A lot of games are like that.
User avatar #133 - themaaster (08/03/2015) [-]
I can understand that for CS:GO. In that hardcore environment you need everything you can get. But let's say like Skyrim, or Civilization, or XCOM or Just Cause 2.

Actually come to think of it. CS:GO doesn't really have much flare to distract you (like lens flares) just standard stuff like AA and better textures.

what's wrong with more fps?
60 is fine, sure... But why not 120 if you can get it?
User avatar #130 - themaaster (08/03/2015) [-]
If you can have better textures/particles/lighting/post-processing effects and keep it at 60+ fps then you should use those effects. Unless they look like ass (looking at you motion blur)

Sorry I don't have a fucking Titan Black. I'm quite happy with my 770 GTX.

Or maybe you just play old games with the graphics quality of Quake 2.
