Dude that is waaaay too young to think you know what you'll want 5, 10 or 20 years down the road. What happens if you finally decide you want a wife and family and want to live comfortably? You'll have nothing to fall back on. Wouldn't it be smarter to take the time and go to school now and get a good paying job that you like just in case? Worst case scenario is you have more cash than expected, of which you can just donate.

about $200 per week. I live in the mountains of Virginia. mortgage is cheap, food is cheap, plus internet and insurance I still have money left over. I don't plan on ever getting a family, so I can live like this forever, working about 27 hours a week. Feelsgoodman

User avatar #31 to #30 - kattr (01/19/2015) [-]
Yes i have, when I was younger and it did nothing.
most likely what happened was you prayed for something to happen and it was going to happen anyway or you interpreted something completely unrelated to being completely related
try not to be so gullible, okay?
User avatar #32 to #31 - theist (01/19/2015) [-]
To not believe in God is to go down the path of Darkness without any source of light. What mostly likely happened was you prayed for something that God didn't agree with, and therefore you didn't get it. Try to be a little more open minded, okay?

P.S. You can't prove that God doesn't exist.
User avatar #33 to #32 - kattr (01/19/2015) [-]
I don't need to prove a god doesn't exist to not base my life around it.
You can't prove that a god does exist.
Not being able to disprove something is a horrible reason to ******* worship it as absolute fact.
Also, open minded? I was raised as catholic *knowing* the existence of god and jesus were fact. If I wasn't open minded (that is open to the idea, that it's all just fairy tales) I would still be a catholic.
User avatar #34 to #33 - theist (01/19/2015) [-]
Give God a chance to enter your heart, he can change lives, you know. And what do you mean prove that God exists? EVERYTHING you see is proof that he exists. We wouldn't be here as people if God didn't create this world for us. We also can't see different colors of the light spectrum, are you going to claim that they don't exist either?
User avatar #35 to #34 - kattr (01/19/2015) [-]
"everything is proof of god" that's not proof of anything except for the fact that it's there. What steps did you take to theorize that god made it? there's literally no evidence that any divine being made everything. That's called conjecture.
User avatar #36 to #35 - theist (01/19/2015) [-]
You can't just say the beauty of this world and universe came from nothing. Everything has a beginning and end. If the big bang actually happened, what banged if there wasn't any time or space (or matter) before it all? Face it, there must have been a being that lives outside the laws of all of these in order for it to happen.
User avatar #37 to #36 - kattr (01/19/2015) [-]
Again that's called conjecture. You don't understand astrophysics, therefore god must have done it. And the concept of beauty isn't inherent. The idea of beauty is subjective, not objective. There would be no beauty of the universe or nature without us to witness it.
User avatar #38 to #37 - theist (01/19/2015) [-]
Up in heaven right now God is looking down at you and sees someone who was faithful, but lost their way along the path of righteousness. Hate to break it to you, but modern physicists don't know how the universe works either. So there goes your precious "science".
User avatar #39 to #38 - kattr (01/19/2015) [-]
You believe he is. That doesn't mean he actually exists. And the thing is, modern physicists have a concept of how the universe works. They admit they have a lot to learn. And that's a lot more than what can be said for religious people.
User avatar #40 to #39 - theist (01/19/2015) [-]
Never lose faith dude. It's very easy to lose it in this world but hard to get it back, and trust me... you need it to get you through some hard times. There's a reason all these science books have "theories" about how this world works. They are theories for a reason, they're scientific guesses. They are proven wrong all the time. God is never wrong though.
User avatar #41 to #40 - kattr (01/19/2015) [-]
justatheory.org
use it man.
a scientific theory is not a "guess", it's the highest graduated honor any idea about the universe could possibly have
the "theory" of gravity
we don't know exactly how it works but dude... gravity is a ******* FACT.
And I have never needed a god to help me through anytime. And even if I did, I'm not going to kid myself into believing one just because I'm sad occasionally.
"wouldn't you be happier knowing god always has your back" the answer to this question is absolutely redundant because it doesn't matter. I DON'T believe he exists, therefore my emotionally driven cravings do not and will not make what I want to suddenly pop into existence.
User avatar #42 to #41 - theist (01/19/2015) [-]
Going against the LAW of gravity isn't the same as going against the THEORY of evolution. A "law" is the highest graduated honor any idea can possibly have, not a theory. Evolution is still a theory because we simply don't know that it happens if we can't observe it over millions of years. That's why it will never become a law. Don't try to include every little guess as "fact" by trying to pair it with true science like the law of gravity.
User avatar #43 to #42 - kattr (01/19/2015) [-]
Hate to break it to you but you're wrong. Evolution is actually a fact. There are many living organisms that can be observed evolving right before our eyes, not to mention DNA tests that show we aren't that different that other organisms. A scientific theory is the most worked upon idea in science, it's got so much data and so many different branches of science all agreeing on this one idea that it's super unlikely to be proven wrong. And gravity is a THEORY. We still don't know how it works, other than it does.
