My issue, originally, was not the policies that they changed, but the ones they didn't. I could care less about the whole "transfer for a fee" thing, that's basically steam with sharing. Everyone loves Steam, but good lord, if you move it to a console, shit hits the fan. No, no, that was cool by me. MY issues are with the always attached kinect, the fact that it monitors for number of people in the room, and the unnecessary once-daily check-ins. THAT is garbage. If they had kept the on-console purchasing (which, ignoring steam, nintendo does as well), and had, instead, removed the once-a-day check ins, and kinect, that would be amazing. Instead, they got rid of the innovative parts, and kept the spytech. As far as I'm concerned, Microsoft can suck a big one.

Because they tried to fuck you over. They weren't smooth about it and people caught their tricks and now they're trying to clear their bad PR by removing everything the xbox had going for it (even the positives) because they're stubborn children. How dare you share an opinion.

Look at it this way, if someone was about to shit on your face, and you were able to stop them by putting some sort of plug in his ass, would you forgive them and keep laying there, or would you get out of the way and kick him in the balls for good measure?
I feel like this metaphor got away from me somehow...

Because it happened at all. The fact that they were willing to screw over the consumer so obviously in favor of companies is a big deal. Just because they changed their mind doesn't mean I'm going to flock back to them. A lesson needs to be learned. A lesson that isn't forgotten.

Ignoring the whole used game policy and required internet fiasco that Microsoft reversed, there hasn't been many games of my interest released as exclusives on the Xbox or 360 that caught my interest, save for a few gems. I play my Wii U currently along with my PS3, but my 360 just collects dust. There are a few Xbox One exclusives that catch my eye, but the One and PS4 are almost identical. The PS4 and WiiU exclusives appeal to me so much more than what Microsoft has to offer as well; I'd rather spend $500 on exclusive games I can get for these two systems rather than the One. Don't get me wrong, a few of the games that the One will have look pretty damn cool, but that's not enough for me considering what the competition offers. I have my WiiU, and I'll probably get the PS4. Besides, the Nintendo and Sony game communities are a little less rude than Microsoft's (at least in my experience).

Regardless, most of the companies that I enjoy make games multiplatform or either exclusive on Sony or Nintendo consoles, and I hear they're a lot more indie friendly, giving me access to more quality devs as well. I hear that One's sales are going up and up since Microsoft's policy change, so them being out of one customer won't hurt them much.
Which bundle are you talking about? The only ones I found were single game equivalents of PS4 launch-day bundles.

you know they changed both internet and used game policy?

Also, I'm not saying that Japan doesn't have it's fair share of boring, faceless games. Actually, the tropes of the typical anime-style JRPG grows tiresome really quickly, and I stay away from those. Not all of them (some gems stand above the others), but most, because Jesus Christ they're all the damn same.

I'll admit that even though I generally prefer Japanese games (purely coincidental, really), the top Western, not necessarily American games that I play usually end up being my favorites, like The Last of Us, Mass Effect, Banjo-Kazooie, Amnesia: The Dark Descent, Halo, Limbo, Journey, and Bioshock. I personally just don't like the recent, huge Western focus on shooter game multiplayer that doesn't do well in giving the game an individual identity. That's not to day I'm one of those "FPS (CoD) = terrible" people, in fact I enjoy those as well when with friends. I just like personal, immersive, primarily singleplayer focused experiences for the most part, and Japan seems to pump those out much more often than Western game companies (or should I say the mainstream companies?). But we all have our different tastes and should respect them.

They didn't "dominate" they literally only won the console war for lack of doing ANYTHING, the only thing they did is stay the same.
At least microsoft TRIED to innovate and think for the future.
Did they fail? sure, but they fixed their mistake.
There is no longer any reason to hate on microsoft.

I'm gonna have to say, from the standpoint of someone who loves all three consoles AND pc, Nintendo really stole the show. Sony intentionally smashed Microsoft, but Nintendo stayed out of it and just had awesome stuff lined up for reveal, one after the other.
