That's understandable, Im going to finish the dub and then rewatch the sub with some friends and then go watch After Story in the sub. Im starting to see the flaws in the dubs even though some are good.

Well, the English dub is good for the most part. The only off-putting thing I can seriously think of with it is that it may skip some syllables in the characters' names like "Fujibashi" instead of "Fujibayashi".

What I typically don't like in Japanese voice dubbing is that they can make young girls sound too highly pitched in the name of being cute. It's overdone in the sense that the voice no longer fits that character's body. Nagisa gets it kinda bad here as does her mother Sanae. They can easily sound 5-10 years younger than they really are. Although Fuko's case isn't terrible, it's another thing the English dub improved upon by making her sound like a teenager in a kid's mind and body rather than a little kid pretending to be 17 (if you catch my drift).

As for the guys, they can sound too deep in Japanese, and Tomoya is practically unbearable for me. He sounds 30 even though he's 18. The English dub is much better since he sounds about 22 and even younger when he's in a good mood. Yohei Sunohara has it the worst though; I cannot stand a comic relief sounding halfway between a viking and a punk. The English dub greatly improved on this by actually making him sound genuinely foolish yet young, hyper, and pathetic.

The English dub is worth trying and comparing for yourself. Don't just accept others' opinions, especially when they tell you to automatically choose sub over dub.

It's a slow romance drama. It's the perfect anime to stop reading subs since you're not going to miss an action scene or anything.

Some dubs are alright, like Cowboy Bebop's, and that's not strictly a comedy.

True, some dubs I've seen are lacking but with this I've been wanting to see whats going on rather than switch from reading to watching. I should just learn the damn language to make it easier lol
