Edward Snowden is cool guy. He exposes shady security practices and doesn't afraid of anything.

i had a very simular experience except i never fell asleep, i was nearly asleep and just like your run of the mill childhood things, when i was younger i would always feel a stabbing presence, like instant fear when i awoke in a frozen state of paralasis, i would always see unimaginable things and they seemed very real, my most recent experience was about a year ago and i was in bed, i was nearly asleep and i had all of the sudden felt this very ominous like being in my bedroom, i sleep in the dark so i thought at first it was me just being a bitch, but i felt real fear, it wasn't until i saw what i saw that made me terrified, it was almost exactly how you described it, but instead of it walking towards me, it fucking reached, or extended, i don't know, but it tried grabbing me, it was at this point i knew i had to break from whatever had control over me with my fear and emotions, my heart was pounding and all i could make of sound was if you made that hoarse pain noise like you got punched in the gut, these expierences in my life had made it very weird because i believe in other beings, after i learned about religion when i was very young i think i swayed from developing schizophrenia in a sense.

Yea, I have night terrors/ sleep paralysis pretty regularly because of some shit I've been throug . Nothing really helps. It's been sliding from paralysis to terrors more often, ut I've actually been fighting back recently as a reaction, no stuck there. I guess the head shrink er has been making some progress. My personal philosophy and way of thought helps, too. I was raised to have warrior ethos, earned my place as one, and the was injured as one, so fighting back is a huge step for me, the measure of control, if not success, being restored is better than the helplessness. Sometimes even fighting is a victory.

That being said I almost punched a hole in the wall the other night, which was not so good.

I get sleep paralysis a few times a year or sometimes not at all. I get a woman, like out of the ring or something like that, just watching me. I am just terrified, like how a snake might cause a mouse to freeze in terror. It's like being in the presence of evil itself.

I think the best way to describe the difference between terror and fear, is that true terror your body just goes into full lizard brain mode and you become incapable of rational thought for a short period of time.
