Oh jeez, then why did they sack Constantinople? Sigh, lot of history here kids. After the coronation of Charlemagne and foundation of the Holy Roman Empire in the 800, the Western Church (centered in Rome) and the Eastern Church (centered in Constantinople) began to enter a period known as the Great Schism between the Western Catholic and Eastern Orthodox branch of Christianity, which would be formally declared by the 11th century. By the time of the 4th crusade in the late 12th century, crusaders under Venetian guidance sacked the city of Constantinople, permanently solidifying the schism and forever dividing Christianity in to East and West.

I believe the sacking of Constantinople was primarily in response to a riot in Constantinople against Catholics.

Some more history about Shia and Sunni, you see ISIS is primarily Sunni, like the vast majority of Muslims, and Kuwait is ruled by and primarily Shia (like Iran, but Iran primarily follows a slightly different form deriving from the Twelver School). More History time, the split essentially boils down to a conflict between Muhammad's followers and relatives/descendants as to who should lead the Islamic Caliphate (and Islam as a whole) after his death. The Sunnis originally believed in one of the elected Caliphs, his legitimacy derived from the practice of elections to determine leaders as supported in the Qu'ran. However the Shi'as, an abbreviation of Shi'atu Ali meaning "party of Ali" supported one of Muhammad's son-in-laws as Caliph, his legitimacy being derived from his relation to Muhammad. There was a lot of bloodshed over this divide as well and the two branches soon diverged with separate practices and traditions. At any rate, that early conflict plus subsequent and recent clashes leaves a lot of bad blood between the two groups.

Hey Jude was always my favorite growing up so I'm partial to it but I think Let it Be is my favorite now.

#14 to #13 - thebeatlesfan (08/08/2014) [-]
There's so many good ones. I don't know if I have a pure favorite but if my top ones are Rubber Soul, Let it Be, and maybe Help!
User avatar #15 to #14 - chokinandtokin ONLINE (08/08/2014) [-]
Nice. Rubber Soul is one of my favorites. I like Revolver and The White Album.
#16 to #15 - thebeatlesfan (08/08/2014) [-]
Revolver is really good. White Album in my opinion doesn't have a ton of good songs but it's cool cause they're all really unique
User avatar #17 to #16 - chokinandtokin ONLINE (08/08/2014) [-]
Yeah, I know what you mean about the while album, but there's something about it I really like for some reason.
#18 to #17 - thebeatlesfan (08/08/2014) [-]
It might just be cause it's really different from other Beatles stuff. Makes it a cool change of taste

#22 to #21 - thebeatlesfan (08/08/2014) [-]
All good. Surprised about Hey Bulldog. Not many people know that one. Mine's a tossup between Hey Jude and Let it Be
User avatar #23 to #22 - chokinandtokin ONLINE (08/08/2014) [-]
Yeah, I got all the albums, even the Anthology haha so I know most of their stuff.

Yeah I like those songs, I love Hey Jude but it's not one I listen to a lot, mostly because it's 7 minutes long. What other songs do you like?
#24 to #23 - thebeatlesfan (08/08/2014) [-]
That's awesome. I just have all the regular albums and the Pastmasters' (I think that's what they're called)

You mean more Beatles' songs or other stuff?
User avatar #25 to #24 - chokinandtokin ONLINE (08/08/2014) [-]
Yeah, it's hard to find their singles.

Yeah, any songs or anything else, it's rare to find people who like the beatles on here haha, do you like johns, pauls, georges, or ringos solo work too?
#26 to #25 - thebeatlesfan (08/08/2014) [-]
Definitely love their solo work, especially George's. Then Paul, then John, then Ringo.

Just a quick list of Beatles' songs I like that I can think of right now:
Yesterday, Fool on the Hill, Eleanor Rigby, Octopus' Garden, Norwegian Wood, Help!, Ticket to Ride, You've Got to Hide Your Love Away, All you Need is Love, Hello Goodbye etc etc
User avatar #27 to #26 - chokinandtokin ONLINE (08/08/2014) [-]
Yeah me too, I'm a really big John Lennon fan. I like his solo stuff the best, then Paul and George's. I never listened to Ringo\s stuff much.

Octopus's Garden, Help, Yesterday, Ticket to Ride and Eleanor Rigby are some of my favorites too!
