No, I'm not saying it's a bad thing that they are cartoons. I fucking love cartoons, dude. Cartoons can be just as expressive as any other form of film. There are just as many shitty movies as there are cartoons, and just as many good cartoons as there are good films.

It was going to die anyway, and it was unconscious. So you could say that he was giving it a quick end.
#75 - glayn (07/25/2014) [-]
Why was it going to die? There's literally nothing in the post that hints that the bear might die, before he beat it with a stick.

It says he pinched off the blood flow in the jugular, as in, he used his teeth as a vice to stop the blood flowing through the artery, not that he in any way 'tore the artery open' as some people seem to have read it.
User avatar #152 - incognitoad (20 hours ago) [-]
It would seem that I mis-read it, as you guessed. My bad.
#156 - glayn (16 hours ago) [-]

User avatar #87 - cormy (07/25/2014) [-]
It says he pinched the jugular vein OFF, not the blood flow.
#154 - glayn (16 hours ago) [-]
That's exactly the same thing in different wording.
User avatar #155 - cormy (16 hours ago) [-]
As far as I'm concerned, if you pinch something off, it's because you took it off. Taking/ripping off a major vein like that would definitely end up with the bear dead.
#157 - glayn (16 hours ago) [-]
pinch off
verb (used with object)
1.
to squeeze or compress between the finger and thumb, the teeth, the jaws of an instrument, or the like.
2.
to constrict or squeeze painfully, as a tight shoe does.
3.
to cramp within narrow bounds or quarters: The crowd pinched him into a corner.
4.
to render (the face, body, etc.) unnaturally constricted or drawn, as pain or distress does: Years of hardship had pinched her countenance beyond recognition.
5.
to affect with sharp discomfort or distress, as cold, hunger, or need does.

In this regard, it's the very first one.
User avatar #158 - cormy (15 hours ago) [-]
Get more examples. All of the examples shown here were for pinching specifically, and not "pinch off". I don't think whatever dictionary you used to search this up actually looked for the phrase, and instead just looked at the first word you typed.

Thefreedictionary.com:
"pinch something off (of) something and pinch something off
to sever something from something by pinching. (Of is usually retained before pronouns.) Pinch the buds off the lower branches so the one at the top will bloom. Pinch off the lower buds."
#159 - glayn (15 hours ago) [-]
Ok, if you won't believe me about the definition of a very simple phrase, let's look at this from another angle. Google the guy, Dale Peterson. I've looked at all the articles about it, none of them mention blood, of which there would be copious amounts if he'd bitten through the jugular, and the stuffed bear (They stuffed it after he killed it apparently), has no wound on its throat, its death caused by blunt force trauma to the skull.

Omnivores cannot get heart disease from eating meat.

Humans do.

What you fail to grasp is that what you are doing is what slave owners did. Insult abolitionists and say they dont want to be criticised for harming others.

You dont have the fucking right to do what you are doing. Society supports it at the moment. But in due time veganism will become social norm and eating the corpses of tortured animals will be looked down upon just like pedophilia.
#91 - beergaroo (07/25/2014) [-]
You don't get heart disease from eating meat. You get it from eating too much meat. And you get all fucked up on the intestines if you eat too many vegetables too ( I had terrible intestinal problems when I was little because I'd eat too many fruits and veggies ). Balance is the way it's meant to be.

Regarding the cancer business: Aparently everything we do causes cancer (even exposure to computers do) so I don't even give a fuck.

Someone who eats loads of meat may never have any heart-related problems, or cancer, while someone who takes close care of his alimentation may have that kind of problems. From what I've been seeing, the decisive factor is genetics (the rest probably has some influence on it but nothing absolute like genetics).

You too don't have the right to dictate how other people live their lives. No one's going to change just because you gave your opinion on a website.

I always feel great even though I have hypertension... caused by genetics (which only makes me feel bad when I'm tired)!
Apart from that I'm extremely healthy and feel strong.

After eating meat I feel satiated (fulfilled even), stronger and bigger (which is a good thing since I got into bodybuilding almost a year ago). Fat has lots of calories and that is something I need to put on more mass.

All that stuff you mentioned only occurs when one eats too much of it (or when you have some kind of intolerance).
#107 - glycogen (07/25/2014) [-]

Now you put words in my mouth?
When did I mentioned I had a low-carb diet?

Do you know the meaning of "balance"?
Without carbs how do I get energy to carry my weight?
Carbs are paramount when I need to workout. Obviously I eat more carbs than protein (and meat is my best source of protein atm) otherwise I wouldn't be able to work.

Balance is the key for everything in nature.

Hey, I'm willing to play.
I play Pathfinder pretty regularly, it's like 3.5 reincarnated. My regular group got disbanded after one of our buddies left for the Peace Core, I'd be willing to GM pathfinder on Skype or whatever you prefer if you're up for it. My Skype user is Jasocks.

I'm willing to play through skype if I have to, but is there any way we could use Roll20, if not then I'll gladly give my skype name
