I prefer amaretto over anything. I like sweet things so when it came to the wines that I liked one was sherry, which is a fortified wine meaning it is a mixture of wine and spirits. The other was a german riesling that I think was called gewurztraminer. Those were really the only 2 of note that I had tried.

The class was also about tasting and not drinking so it wasn't about the first flavour you get as it passes your lips but about trying to pick out the different flavours that make up the wine.

I think i've drank amaretto a couple of times actually, pretty dark right? i'm not really one for sweet alcohol though, gets too sickly after a few, i find.

I don't like most wines myself. Took a course on them as part of hospitality management program. Found a few that were decent. Most were not. Fascinating topic though.

No problem. While it really is just for show, it is still a really fun thing to do.

You don't usually slice into the bottle, like these idiots, you slide the blade up the bottle, catch the cork and yank it out all in one swipe, as you can see most people "slice" the edge of the blade into the glass... it's mainly for show though.

The best way is to gently squeeze the cork and twist it slowly until you can feel the pressure of the bottle act on the cork, then let go of the cork, there's plenty of corks above the cupboards in the kitchen from all the wine my family drinks...

What these idiots are trying to do is called sabreing. Basically they used to use actual sabres on the battle field to open the bottles, or so I was taught.

I have done this before in a wine class. It required a sparkling wine such as champaigne. This can be done using anything from a sword to a wine flute. You run the item up the seam of the bottle and when it connects with the neck the bottle gives in at the weak point and the neck of the bottle actually cuts, fairly cleanly off due to the pressure inside the bottle.

Flesh and boars can take a lot more damage from the front, best shooting them from behind. What you harvest from them is more than likely worth the bullets
