Aslan is just an apologist.

He isn't an apologist at all. He stands for peaceful members of religions that are portrayed as violent all over the world, such as Islam in Indonesia the latest Muslim population in the world and also one of the most progressive in terms of social equality.

Feminism is just a name given to a rather general Ideology. That ideology being equality for both men and women. If you believe in equality then by definition you believe in the feminist ideology, or at least the most prominent section of it.

The only 'true feminist' activism I've ever seen is people like you telling people like me that not all feminists are like that.

That's why you're losing. That's why they could literally walk in and steal the name, the movement, the whole fucking shebang. Because you'd rather tell people you aren't like them, then tell them that they aren't real feminists.

This is a war of ideologies, and you're getting your asses handed to you because you refuse to fight back. You're engaging the wrong people in the wrong way for the wrong reasons.

I'd like to take a second to let you know that I actually don't consider myself a feminist at least not in the activist sense (i.e. I support most of the ideology of equality but won't take a day off from school to go picket outside of the governor's house). That being said if you haven't noticed the good feminism has done anywhere in the world then I think you might not be looking hard enough or perhaps we just have very different ideas on what is "good" which is perfectly fine because "good" is such a subjective term. But to say that feminists are getting their asses handed to them that just isn't true, mainly because most feminists evoking real change are in congress, passing laws that require equal pay for equal work; and overseas, fighting against female genital mutilation in Eritrea and Ethiopia. These men and women are so focused on real issues at hand that they don't have time to bother with the occasional black sheep who spouts sexist nonsense about how women are better than men.

I think it's really important for the people who keep claiming to be 'real feminists' to stop with the pointless No True Scotsman arguments and spend their time stamping out shit like this, instead of trying to 'correct' the people who see this and think "feminists are fucking crazy."

Group 1 being crazy and Group 2 telling everyone feminists aren't crazy isn't convincing.

Group 1 being crazy and Group 2 not being crazy is convincing.

You aren't helping anyone. You are literally at war with these people. You won't win by engaging us. Engage them. Don't be a fucking useless definition Nazi. Fight back.

It isn't a "No True Scotsman" fallacy when there are pretty clear definitions available for Feminism meaning their is an objectively "true" feminist. And all I was saying was that feminism at its core is an important movement that has benefited our society, it is the outliers of the movement who end up doing what we can agree is damaging to our society. You act as though this situation is an "us vs. them" type scenario which I think is a horrible way to look at it. The vast majority of feminists seek equality yet you allow the vocal minority define how you view the entire group.
