One big ol' brutal son of a mother.
Into heresy and techshit, mostly heretech.
Therefore Techketzer, meaning techheretic in the language of the most innovative and intellectually bright nation of this sorry planet.

Speaking of this planet, once I'm done with it you will all bow to me.
Not because I order it, but because you will want to.

Also, miniwargamer, airsofter, writer, and officer of the Grammar Gestapo.

If homosexuality is genetic we should see a decline in the homosexual population over the next few generations. I think it is a social construct

Yes, because the main point was that it's completely situational. I have different answers for different "what if" situations because damn near every "what if" situation is going to be different.

I appreciate what you're doing here. Taking the time to answer people's questions and being a good sport about others butting in.

I salute you, good sir.

My God...I'm not disagreeing with you in any meaningful way, specifically with respect to gun safety, but what you just said reminds me of those assholes I see on a regular basis who will comment on almost everything I do, and will constantly use "what if" statements to try and prove that what I'm doing is reckless.

Like I drive recklessly, I know I do. My roommate has said to me "Dude, you just plowed through that crosswalk without slowing down, what if someone was crossing the street?!" Uhm...I would have seen them...and I would have slowed down...but there wasn't...so I didn't.

So while I understand your point on gun safety, to his defense, it's not a real gun. If someone started getting in my face over "WELL WHAT IF IT WAS!"...

Then my finger wouldn't be in the trigger well, because I'd understand it wasn't just a plastic toy!

You realize you just answered with another what if scenario?

Yes, then he has.

On another note, have you ever encountered a human being with absolute and perfect awareness, recognition and presence of mind?
Of course you have not and neither have I, because there is no such human.

And that is precisely the reason why I more than frown on bad habits like these - they invite disaster in a moment of stress or distraction, absolutely needlessly, whereas proper discipline could contribute to reacting the right way when it counts.

From proper driving technique to handling chemicals, properly securing loads for transport and so on and so on, there is no reason to be sloppy when working with a bandsaw or jackhammer and neither is there to operate a firearm replica any less properly than an actual firearm, if just for the reason that a slip of mind in the wrong situation might cost someone else's health or life.

tl;dr: Please use dangerous things responsible; that includes proper technique and precaution with replicas, lookalikes and training devices.
Sloppy technique and bad habits stick wretchedly; just ask any self-taught musician.
