Alright so here's what you gotta do for stuff like concept art [white][white]

-Learn the rule of 3's, basically like every picture has an invisible tic tac toe grid over it that shows points of interest. Study it like a mad man.

-Environments and what it contains- (you wouldn't design a hobbit house in a volcano). Study different environments as many as you can by the culture, time, and place.

-Learn the poop out of the 15 principle rule about characters and "squash & stretch". This makes up the animation and how cartoons are cartoony. Character design is very important to the type of character you create; heroic, villainy, anti hero and villain. Learn how to take three random words and mix them in many ways to create a single character. When a character is created, draw them repeatedly in as many situations and diverse emotions as possible.

-As for scripts, I don't study that field but I suggest taking major cool ideas for scenes and putting them in a timeline, then constructing a way to connect those major events. Study old stories, past events, what made popular movies/books popular, stuff like that. Also take into consideration a character's thought process, their abilities(not yours, unless if you are the character), and what they would do in a situation.

Gain access to different software and learn them well

Look up as many tutorials on youtube or other sites as you can for the things you want to study and how great artists do their work as well. The more you know = the more you are valued. I hope this helped :u

User avatar #505 - teFlyingNinja (01/25/2014) [-]
It's an unofficial team within the Art Institute of Houston. We're not necessarily a company yet, but have joined together in order to design this game for a few gentlemen that need concepts for a game using the omni. Sorry if I got your hopes up if you thought I was from somewhere like Valve.

Everyone is looking towards the newer stuff so it's more likely on the next gen consoles side of things. Then again if people are still making games for the 360 by the time we're done it'll be multi-platform.
