You probably didn't watch it as a kid because it's not a very old show, and you probably stopped watching kid's cartoons before it aired.

It blows the minds of most logical and intelligent Americans as well, but guns are so ingrained in the redneck conservative part of our society, it's going to be a long, hard battle to get these laws in place to limit gun ownership. It will happen eventually, it will just take time.
#52 - soldieroffortunemp (06/29/2015) [-]
No the laws won't happen. It will go two ways: 1. They stop trying to push gun laws on LAW ABIDING citizens (not criminals) or 2. They will push to hard and those with guns will fight back, whether it is politically done or physically we will not let anyone strip our rights from us.

So take your communist attitude and shove it up your ass. I hope someone breaks into your home while you cry and wait for the police praying that the robber doesn't find you. Please put a sign out from of your home or on your door that says "This house is gun free" it lets the rest of us know not to defend you.

Wow, you're fucking retarded. And a prime example of why the majority of the population isn't fit to bear arms in this country. That whole "hurr durr communism!!!" shit died out in the 80's pal. Get with the times, or move to Kenya where you serve your local warlord with an AK-47 and shoot anything that moves.

If the law is passed, and it will eventually thanks to progressive ideals, just try to defend your "freedom" as you're shot on your front lawn drunk wielding a shotgun like the ignorant fucking redneck you are, you fucking barbarian.
User avatar #66 - soldieroffortunemp (06/30/2015) [-]
Actually, I don't drink and I don't think a shotgun is very effective. I won't argue conservative or progressive, I believe in my Constitution. I am well trained in firearms, (I was #3 in my city and lettered varsity in shooting.) I believe everyone has the right to free speech but I feel that when you threaten the bill of rights and the amendments you are wrong. I will never take up arms unless I feel that freedom written under those laws of the land are threatened. Also there are already gun laws in place, in cities like Detroit, Chicago, New York, LA, Seattle, Washington DC and many more. These cities hold the highest crime rates in the US, they also have the strictest gun laws.

Now about mass shootings let's look at a few major ones

Columbine: illegally bought and modified handguns
Virginia tech: Guns bought legally but the state did nothing
Aurora Theater: Guns bought legally, but the college did nothing
Sandy hook: killed his mother to get the 2 handguns
Charleston: legal purchase by his father, illegally given to him
Most crimes are committed by illegally obtained guns, drugs are illegal, but criminals still get them. Why stop the ones who are not breaking the law when all they want to do is defend themselves from those who do?

What do you fear from a gun owner and who is trained and careful with a firearm? Why do you hate firearms so much that you want to take them away from those who don't hurt others? Why preach tolerance for others who choose a lifestlye but yet try and take ours away?

Blew my Mind too. Bought my first Rifle when I was 18, a Savage mk.ii .22, at a pawn shop I was at because why not. All I had to do was fill out a short information sheet and show them my Drivers License. They made the call and I walked out of the pawnshop with the rifle, all in about 30 minutes. They even knocked off part of the price because they said they don't like the gun tax, so all it took me to buy a gun was my ID, 30 minutes, and 200 dollars.

in most states you need a license for a handgun, but rifles and shotguns you can just go buy. Most stores require a background check though.

Handgun license? You must be thinking of a CCW.

I can get anything but a handgun i with out a license in my state.
User avatar #35 - LocoJoe (06/29/2015) [-]
I think only in Illinois you need a FOID(Firearms Owners ID). Most states you can walk into a store, pay, fill out some shit, show an ID, play some candy crush while the store owner calls in for a NICS(National Instant Criminal Background Check System) check and then you walk out with your gun unless there's a waiting period which is in a few select states.
User avatar #53 - drldrl (06/29/2015) [-]
Illinois you have to be 21 for it, too.
I could go join the army and die with a military-grade weapon in my hands right now, but I have to be 21 to buy a simple hunting rifle.
User avatar #49 - majordraco (06/29/2015) [-]
California it's 10 days, but the BG check takes fifteen minutes, handguns require $25 licence takes 20 minutes of study then a simple test.
