I've only just now started the first book, but the show seems close enough that I would suggest watching it and then moving onto the books, simply because the casting in the show was so spot on so you know rather well how the characters are meant to act. Granted, there are changes to the age of certain characters (which I find preferable) but overall they adapted it perfectly.

Suppose that works, I've never really played any such games but if reverting after a spree makes for no worries, then have at their head with a mithril battle axe! Or is that just Runescape, I don't even know anymore.

Ah. I should get more into every game I have. I'm not very good at understanding the plot and stuff, but I think that's mainly due to the fact I always stop to look at the scenery and plants, or in a free-roam game I dress up and run around doing nothing. ._.
