my understanding of kinetic barriers is that they dont stop everything only things going a certain speed. so the super powered suit striking the neck or possibly the power unit of the suit could easily pass through said barrier
User avatar #37 - taxation (02/11/2013) [-]
True, but even disregarding the kinetic barrier there's still the suit itself, which being "composed of a multilayer alloy of remarkable strength" as says halo.wikia.com/wiki/MJOLNIR_Powered_Assault_Armor , would more than likely be able to stop getting bonked with beam rifle.
User avatar #106 - sketchE (02/11/2013) [-]
yes but your character is also remarkable strong. remember the elephant in halo three that if you found a way to flip it you could effortlessly flip it back over
User avatar #194 - taxation (02/11/2013) [-]
Okay THAT, I completely forgot about. Makes it much more reasonable for battle rifle stock smashing to be fatal.
User avatar #72 - huntergriff (02/11/2013) [-]
how strong your armor is to withstand a melee in gameplay=/=how strong it is in the lore

But what takes precedence in cannon? Games or lore?
My friends and I have argued about this regarding reach many times
User avatar #252 - Tormound (02/11/2013) [-]
With Reach, Bungie said any new information shall override any old information. So if the game and a older book are contradicting, the game is considered to be higher on the canon levels. That's just for reach though, not quite sure about the new info that comes out. I think that any new info overrides older info.
User avatar #98 - huntergriff (02/11/2013) [-]
the game's story and events, not the gameplay take precedence over the lore, However with Halo reach, the lore and game go hand in hand, That said, reach and the fall of reach take place from different points of view, Reach's story was more focused on Noble team, while Halo the fall of reach is more focused on john and his team. Furthermore the last few journal entries of halsey's journal that came with the limited and legendary edition, basically proves that noble team existed, even though she didn't know they were 3's at the time, Now what happened to jun is actually up for debate...personally, i'd like to say that he was killed by the covies...or at least captured.

What the zoobidey flip-flop-bop did you just say about me, you flippidy zoob woobity? I'll have you know I zooped and flooped to the top of my class in the zobbler wobbler, and I've rop-wop-flopped in numerous shoobidy doobidies on floppity pudding, and I have over 300 shibbidy bops. I am trained in flap-floppities and I'm the top doober in the entire shibbidy. You are nothing to zoobidy-me but just another zoobidy. I will zoop you the blop out with precision the likes of which has never been seen before on this floobidy Earth, mark my flibbidy flop. You think you can flop away with zoobing that doobie-woobie to me over the Interzoobies? Think again, flap-flopper. As we speak I am zipping my blopping bloop of flobbidies across the boopidy and your floopidy is being flopped right now so you better poopidy for the big zoobidy flop party, son. You're jeeber zeebered, son. I can be anywhere, any-flopping-time, and I can zoop and woop you in over seven hundred ways, and that's just with my boobidy shoobidies. Not only am I extensively zooped in zip-wop, but I have access to the entire zabber of the Zap Wop Muggity Top and I will zoop it to its full extent to flap your flobbity flob off the face of the zoobie, you zabber wabber. If only you could have known what zopping fury your little "zoopity" comment was about to bring down upon you, maybe you would have zooped up. But you couldn't, you didn't, and now you're paying the price, you flapping babbling shooby-wooper. I will zip zop all over you and you will drown in it. You're zooped, son.

I've only just now started the first book, but the show seems close enough that I would suggest watching it and then moving onto the books, simply because the casting in the show was so spot on so you know rather well how the characters are meant to act. Granted, there are changes to the age of certain characters (which I find preferable) but overall they adapted it perfectly.

I usually save, then kill everyone (on Skyrim) so that doesn't happen. :D

Suppose that works, I've never really played any such games but if reverting after a spree makes for no worries, then have at their head with a mithril battle axe! Or is that just Runescape, I don't even know anymore.
User avatar #213 - jellybaby (02/11/2013) [-]
That's a good idea, haha. I should probably do a whole quest chain, take a break and do random shit like killing people 'n' stuff, then another quest chain. :D
User avatar #214 - taxation (02/11/2013) [-]
So long as you don't go killing anybody who'd give you an important quest later on, yeah that sounds like a great plan!
User avatar #211 - jellybaby (02/11/2013) [-]
The problem is I run around doing nothing, then when I want to quest I don't know which ones to start with, or what I need to do. ._.
User avatar #212 - taxation (02/11/2013) [-]
In that case, online guides would be a pretty good idea it seems, what with them telling you what to buy and where to start things up yeah?
User avatar #209 - jellybaby (02/10/2013) [-]
Ah. I should get more into every game I have. I'm not very good at understanding the plot and stuff, but I think that's mainly due to the fact I always stop to look at the scenery and plants, or in a free-roam game I dress up and run around doing nothing. ._.
User avatar #210 - taxation (02/11/2013) [-]
