Yeah they pissed me off as well because I got the Dragon Born DLC for Skyrim and it was a pile of fucking shit and it cost 1600 MS points. And I will never understand the reasoning behind not being able to play games offline.

It's an anti-piracy measure. By keeping you online they can confirm that only 1 person is using that license at once instead of hundreds.

Bethesda are one of the few companies that make games I still enjoy, EA are probably the worst and I'm going to avoid ever buying a game of theirs again.

Even Bethesday is starting to piss me off with their Steam only policy for PC games. If you buy a game from steam YOU DO NOT OWN IT, you only own the rights to it. I still have my copy of Baldur's Gate 2 from the mystical year of 2000, Thats over 13 fucking years ago. yet the moment I lose internet connection I can not play Skyrim, the game that I payed real money for because Bethesda only alows you to play it on steam. (Pic is my actual copy of Baldurs gate)

I was talking about this to a friend earlier today and how people are not penalized for being bad at a game because virtually every game has check points every 2 minutes. Also there's no replay value in games either like there was in the games you mentioned.

That last game that I played that felt like a good game was Fallout: New Vegas
