It's not what happened in the story it's that they told it almost to impress other people with the situation they were in and validate their humor. Why would two people whisper that same thing? See the difference between these and 4chan stories is that we know the 4chan stories are probably fake but they're just making stuff to make other people laugh. As apposed to telling stories so other people reaffirm their opinions of you because you were in a "cool" situation
User avatar #31 - kijajouteh (09/03/2015) [-]

All good stories deserve a little embellishment. The only purpose for you to be here ingesting what this website has to offer is for your own personal pleasure, it doesn't really matter if it's true or not, although you can't choose what to believe.
User avatar #7 - subaqueousreach (09/03/2015) [-]
Exaggeration and embellishing are human nature. People like tales of grandiose and excitement, terror and dread, humor and wit. So naturally we tell the story so it's more interesting so more people will want to listen to it. Every single human being on Earth does this whether they realize it or not, because whether they admit it or not everyone desires acceptance and being part of a cool story improves peoples' disposition towards you.

User avatar #83 - duudegladiator (08/21/2015) [-]
As opposed to any others that represent the reason why people are actually behind him?

Career politicians need to be eliminated, because they don't do anything except for whatever will keep them in office. Non-politicians are gaining momentum because the citizenry is tired of the worn out bullshit that people like Clinton, Sanders, and many of the Republican candidates represent. Trump knows how to run a business, and the U.S., being a capitalist system, needs someone who knows how to run a business in order to get money straight.
User avatar #91 - schneidend (08/21/2015) [-]
He knows how to "run a business" because he's a crooked fuck who has declared bankruptcy multiple times and yet, through various means of gaming the system, is still preposterously wealthy. His business ventures aren't even the titans they once were, and he himself is only barely on the Forbes' 500 list. So, his only saving grace, his supposed economic prowess, isn't even that great. He's a racist, a classist, and he will undoubtedly have the most toxic foreign policy since W. If we elect this sentient hairpiece and allow him into a room, as POTUS, with Putin in any official capacity, we will probably have an entirely needless war on our hands.
#141 - anon (08/21/2015) [-]
Oh look, someone realized what career politicians are like...
User avatar #96 - meroune (08/21/2015) [-]
And yet, isn't playing the system the exact sort of thing a political leader needs to be good at for things to work in his favor? The greatest accomplishments in governments are almost always the result of people finding ways to work the system and manipulate things in their favor - just look at half of the shit FDR did that was unprecedented before him.
User avatar #97 - meroune (08/21/2015) [-]
That's not to say that I support Trump, but I think that being able to use loopholes like that is not necessarily a bad thing.
User avatar #186 - schneidend (08/22/2015) [-]

I don't have any problems against his politics, but how he is expressing himself. Some very stupid people will take those comments too seriously and will act on their own. It has already happened. Also, some of his statements are just too stupid to be believable. "I'm going to build a wall and I'm going to make the Mexicans pay for it...". How is he supposed to do that? If that's how he's going to manage foreign policy, I'm afraid he could star some wars.

I don't even have to watch Attack on Titan to know you're wrong with that description...

Attack on Titan is about a group of teenagers + adults working together to stop the inevitable defeat at the hands of giant monsters. Only one / two people have "super powers" and it's mostly about the ideal of the food fighting against the one eating them and trying to survive... At least from what I've gathered.

Full Metal is about many people running a corrupted government with the main characters being thrown into the mix in their search to restore themselves back before they made a terrible mistake. Not only does every character in the show have access to the 'super powers', but the only ones with abilities above the "average" in that world are considered abominations because of how they're made. Depending on which version of FMA you're watching, at least. It's less about 'fighting against monsters' and more about morals and destroying corruption.

Secret organizations aren't even really part of either show. They're pretty up front about it.
#600 - nightmarexnxnxnxnx (08/12/2015) [-]
Your whole comment makes you look laughably ignorant. You watch the first episode and think you know the whole story? Do you honestly think that titans are really only mindless beasts appearing out of nowhere suddenly eating most of human populace of AOT world, beasts with no point of origin and no higher forms? Sure, that could have worked...for like *ahem* five episodes or so.

If you want to ¨pwn¨ someone with your comment, like you obviously think you did, considering that picture, then you should at least educate yourself on what are you actually talking about.

Also the fact that: homunculi even exist and that fuhrer bradley is himself a homuculus does not come out until quite long into the story.

Same with Annie, Berthold and so on. Nobody really suspects at first that they are in reality titan spies.
#623 - bluemagebrilly (08/12/2015) [-]
I never assumed to have the whole story or implied I did. Nor did I want to "pwn" you, so try to calm yourself down before reading further.

While I don't really care where they came from or not, I was pretty sure they didn't just "appear" and start eating people, but it's pretty awful to say that the show is just "teenagers saving the world with super human abilities" and then getting all uppity when someone says it's not just that. Which it isn't, if what you just said is any indication, but...

Homunculi appear pretty early in both versions of FMA and while Bradley is "secret", it becomes pretty apparent that the whole Government is corrupted pretty early on as well. While he comes off as a good guy early on... he's not really a spy. You can't spy on people on the same side as you.

Even if they are "titan spies", do you really consider them to be the same as the Homunculi? Like, at all?

But really, if I upset you with my comment some how, then I apologize... But I do not apologize for the following: Please get off your high-horse and think on a rational level. You flipped way out because I looked "laughably ignorant" and yet it's totally okay for you to compare two completely different anime to being the same thing.

Just because it has two similar themes does not mean the shows are that similar. Titans and Homunculi are completely different.... also don't consider my picture to be the whole theme of my comments. Sometimes I just pick things randomly when I'm not sure what to use.
#649 - nightmarexnxnxnxnx (08/12/2015) [-]
It was and I quote ¨Teenagers saving world from secret organization of individuals with superhuman abilities¨

Titan spies in the city are pretty much just ALONE the biggest threat to humanity at that time. They are spies, so organization of individuals with superhuman abilities fits.

Yes I do consider them same as homunculi, except that they want to eradicate the humanity just for the sole reason of eradicating it, meanwhile, homunculi want to eradicate large part of humanity to create a philosopher stone. If not stopped, both examples will in the end reign supreme, thus the world needs to be saved from them (from the perspective of humanity)

Not to mention the fact that you probably didnt catch on when I mentioned the homeland of titans which is very likely RULED by organization of INDIVIDUALS with SUPERHUMAN abilities. Indvididual is any sentient being by definition, regardles of whether it is homunculi, titan, or human

In the very core, plots of this anime have extremely similar basis. The: ¨Teenagers save the world from secret organization of individuals with superhuman abilities.¨ is just extremely(!) crude summary of the both plots, but they can be compared on that basis nevertheless.

Your attitude pissed me off because you said you dont even need to watch AOT to be sure my description is wrong. Because honestly what the hell do you know from reading the plot summary of first few episodes compared to someone who has watched the whole thing and read manga on the top?

And just on side, what did you really mean by that image? Because to me it looked like a message of: Your words are full of BS and I know better besides not knowing the first thing about the AOT side of topic.
