well the majority of the major investors in Hyderbad are from the south side of AP (the ones that don't want to break away) but the party that's calling for the split wants Hyderbad to go with them to Telangana. So it's still being heavily fought over, right now it's just a big mess.

Just gonna say here... I read a government mandated poster at my work
If you are a part time employee your company cannot offer/give you health insurance as of Midnight December 31st, 2013. In 2014 if you do not have any health insurance you are fined $95 or 1% of your gross income. Which ever is greater. By 2015 you will be fined 2% of your gross income. By 2016 you will be fined 2.5% of your gross income.
I won't lie. I'm a Liberal. I was going to vote for Obama (didn't have the time.) And Now I am glad I didn't vote for Obama. Some of his plans have been decent... but as of late... I'm not so happy with him. Thank GOD I was just promoted to Full Time otherwise I would be fucked.

Spoken like a true liberal.
Republicans OFFERED to raise the deficit limit as long as the money funds previous programs and not the new Obamacare. They don't want it funded before other programs that are already in effect have been paid for. So, they would rather get into a compromise than just "cave" to what democrats want. Learn to formulate your own opinion instead of copying random shit that your dad says because he can't see both sides. And they didn't force the gov't to shut down. The **** does that even mean? The gov't shut down because there was no money to fund it; and seeing as Republicans offered a compromise, either both parties did the shutting down, or liberals did. Once you graduate grade school, take a government elective in High School or College and educate yourself.
TLDR: Liberals won't compromise unless it's 100% what they want.

Anon, don't even pretend to call out some kind of bias here.
The fact is, one division of the government is so buttmad about something that is LAW that they are screwing over hundreds of thousands of government workers and bringing a questionable stasis to the government, while still making enough money that they don't even have to worry about what this does to themselves.
Even if it's flawed, you don't shut the government down because you're upset.
#179 - xxxsonic fanxxx (10/02/2013) [-]
just saying people are mostly pissed because if they don't use obamacare but a different provider instead they will have to pay a fine equal to the amount it would cost them to just have obamacare

You can't be expected to work without pay. The people who are "shutdown" are not currently working, whatever division/ arm of the government they work for isn't doing anything. They're not getting paid because they are required to not do anything. They still technically hold their positions in the system, they just aren't working right now. It's like if a labor union went on strike, if you're part of the union then you aren't allowed to work until whatever conditions are met.
#293 - expressway (10/02/2013) [-]
True, most positions aren't going into work at all, I worded my original post poorly. Yet there are still many critical positions that are being told to come into work without pay. And the analogy of a union is a good example, however its the federal government that is negotiating, not the workers. There is no argument between the government and workers pay (other than compensation of course), it's the government among itself trying to pass a budget. When you work for the federal government most of the time when things like this happen you're along for the ride without much say, your union can only get on congress, like the rest of the nation, to figure it out.

As someone who works with (not for) the government, It's actually hilarious how many people are still working today. Really, the only people taking the day off are the senators. The mail, transit, and anything like that are still working fine. I was on the phone with a friend from my old job, and he says some government funded places are still open and working even though they're told not his included. The only ones taking this seriously is the republicans, and it's fucking adorable. They can stop doing their job for a month, and we wouldn't notice the difference.
#32 - niggastolemyname (10/01/2013) [-]
"Next republicans believe that this will not significantly reduce insurance and healthcare costs" lol they really think that?
because it's flat out obvious that government insurance for all would be significantly cheaper that private health care, and insurance companies know this.
#168 - pokemonstheshiz (10/02/2013) [-]
people might be thumbing this down, but it's true. To be competitive, the government would probably lose money doing it, but it would keep insurance companies in check. The post office is the same way nowadays, they're always in the red, yet they keep the major companies (fedex and UPS) from using their oligopoly-like powers to increase their prices to ridiculous rates.

It actually over all saves money.
And you are not forced to get gealthcare, your employer is forced to supply you healthcare.
And you have an ineffective system overall anyway, seeing how you spend the most money per capita for healthcare, yet are 34th the world in healthcare quality.
