I think there's a great decision coming towards us.
The internet may set us all free over time, but if it fall into the hands of an oppressor, we may not have a chance to resist any longer.
Possibilities of control and surveillance are so great and irresistible with modern technology that this might be our last chance not to go the road that leads to a worldwide dictatorship.

I am confident we'll make the right choice, however.

here is what I think.
when the Internet first started, it wasn't considered a big deal, and governments didn't care about it that much)
but in the last 10 years it started to improve drastically and turned into a country where you can do almost anything, so they don't know if they should practice law that is as strict as real life laws, or shouldn't.

they are going to do that sooner or later, because the Internet is too powerful to be unnoticed, but unlike real-life the power isn't only given to people with money, or people with guns, it's given to people with brains, people who understand it and try to improve it for them and others, so it's going to be a great fight :D,,
and epic one

Exactly. They can try as they like, but no tyranny is forever.
People will always overcome oppression and fight for freedom.

That wouldn't be horrible, that would be the end.
At least we can count on you people to outsmart these idiots in government any opportunity you get, can't we? ;)

I know, if they did that (and since we are changing soon to IPv6, so they have a chance to integrate it soon :S :S )
with IPv6 there wouldn't be NATing since the number of IPs would be sufficient for every human on earth, so it would possible to assign 10-100 IP per person that are linked to your ID :S.
but you can always count on people to break it :D

don't worry D,, I'm a geek mee-self, and I know my way around computers

blocking isn't bad, what would be bad is if each IP is tied to your ID :D, that would be horrible
