I don't disagree ( you can't because it's the truth) but it is pretty much a moot point because no one is ever gong to say it isn't a war, as far as every day conversation it is war.

Shut up. Just shut up, do you think you are edgy because you bring this up? We know that W went to congress and got an AUMF, as far as terminology between normal citizens it's fucking war when we send our troops somewhere.

Chill, man. Just because people call it that does not mean that's what it is. For the U.S. to go to war, a declaration from congress is required. A police action isn't much better, but it could be ended by congress by them simply pulling funding. The AUMF is not exactly a declaration of war either as it simply allows the president to fling forces at whatever he wants, because they might maybe have a snowball's chance in hell of having been connected to 9/11. A war would indicate that we were going off to conquer like WW1 and WW2 where we joined in a fight to overthrow other notable factions. We're not doing that here. We're sending troops around the world to arrest, detain, interrogate, and kill people who intend harm on our nation. Vietnam was also different. We weren't trying to conquer or overthrow. Our goal was to keep South Vietnam alive.

Well we have declared war on Afghanistan and Iraq. Also Russia but most of that wasn't physically fighting.

I bring source to my argument. The last declaration of war by the United States was issued to Rumania in 1942. Everything else was police actions, because we as a country have commitment issues.
