Except that it literally is nothing. Nothing is better than nothing?

Correct. Whats that edgy horrible song "Rather feel pain instead of nothing at all" Nah feeling nothing is the best, don't rage at games. Don't get mad when its impossible to get a boyfriend. Life is just a very boring rollercoaster.

Nothing edgy in that. Emptiness is the worst emotional downfall. This is why it is often said, that the end of love is not hate, but apathy. Emotions are full of polar opposites, but they function together in a ying-yang cycle, and are what makes life worth living.

There's a saying, I really like it "The soul wouldn't know rainbow, if eyes wouldn't know tears".

Emotions are the catalyst for many things that can happen in our lives. They can motivate you, or bring you down - it depends on what you will do with the rest of yourself, with your self-awareness and intellect. When you have no emotions, you have no choice either.

Nah I'm fine with being dead inside, its better than before. Appearntly its a natural coping mechanisms for depression, either be dead inside or wanting to be dead.

It sounds more like a carefully worked out pose you're proud of.

If you had emotions once, thus weren't born a sociopath, you still have them, only suppressed. If you think nothing wrong can come out of this, you better change your mind quick, or it'll go very wrong for you. Eventually.

If you say it's a coping mechanism, it means you are still in the process of coping, and thus haven't achieved a legitimate progress with yourself. You're not supposed to be in state of coping your entire life, that's not what coping is for.

You know full well you are not "dead inside". Blocking any outgoing emotions and feelings due to stress/trauma - that I can believe.

If you'd stop lying to yourself that apathy is the solution, that'd be great. The way I feel it - you wouldn't have to constantly convince yourself, and everyone around, how dead inside you are, if you were really dead inside.

This was not what this person wrote. No hashtags, no "omg lol". No.

Just a coherent, if distressed, sentence, accented with a few sad emojis. Give this guy/gal a break.

If I was in a peril, I sure as hell wouldn't mind adding a little dumbass heart at the end of "I love you" just to make myself feel a 0.0001% better. To remember what life is to me and that it can still be waiting for me should I survive. Why is this such a problem to you? Don't you have even a remote sense of compassion in you?
