It's also not free. They charge you a fee to replace your id.

I doubt snapchat was created for that purpose. It is likely for a government agency to comb trough your social media profiles, likewise this is not even a secret...when you commit a crime you are encouraged by your defense to delete social media profiles because the information is public.

"You must all replace your ID every few years and it will cost you money"
Yeah, that'll go over great with the public. They'll love that. Even though it wouldn't be that much of a cost (Maybe like 15 bucks per card? No idea how much that shit costs, considering it has to have a bunch of special markings and lamination and whatnot on it).

It'd be one of those things where your average Joe reads the new law on it, then gives a nice stern look at the government as a whole and goes "Really nigga?".

And snapchat wasn't created for that purpose of course. Neither was facebook. Gov't don't give a shit, all they see is a bunch of easy and free info they can have. In any case, I've never understood why people like to have pictures or videos of them doing illegal things. Like yeah, great plan, lets get some nice solid public evidence.

even if that's true, why wouldn't the governing just require you to renew it more often then? The snapchat conspiracy is retarded.

Renewing drivers licenses isn't free. You have to pay for the material, the employees involved in all processes to make it, etc.

Why go through all that work when you can just take the facial recognition information from snapchat and Facebook?

I'm not into conspiracies at all, but it wouldn't really surprise me if the government uses social media to track people. However even if they do, I don't really give a shit because the only crime I'll ever really commit is smoking weed here and there, and if the CIA decides to break into a home or arrest me for those reasons, they really need to consider what their priorities on keeping the nation safe are.
