I've never played Overwatch. I have no idea what her official backstory is.
But from her design I can piece together that she is a scientist that worked on portable cryogenic technology, the same tech that she uses in battle. Working with Cryogenics makes for an extremely shivvery workplace, and as such, she would wear the biggest coat she could find, which would likely be a parka.

Holy cow, you misunderstood a lot from what I said. I never said I don't want to live under a government, where did you get that from?
Spoiled baby? Wth, I am simply talking about how consent works in the democratic process. It's an issue of principle that underlies democracy itself because it describes what makes it work in the first place.

If you feel that whomever you are voting truly represents you, then great, I don't care, but not everyone feels that way. You think a larger number of candidates will fix the issue? Seriously, do you even logic?
User avatar
#124 - sketchE (05/16/2016) [-]
well yes when you say these two people dont represent me and completely ignore the list of people who might then im not the one sitting there whining that there are no good candidates. have you looked at the others? are there any who in anyway match what your vision of a leader is? you probably dont have an answer for it.

so yes while you sit there and say the options being sold to me are not to my liking but ignore what is on the market you sound like a spoiled baby

Accusing me of "ignoring the list of people who *might* represent me".

"If you care more about the principle of things and you're not at all pleased by the choices you see (Hillary/Trump)"

then why say if your not pleased by the choices and list only two
#127 - megadud (05/16/2016) [-]
Because those are the only two with a reasonable enough chance of becoming president. Me voting for another candidate would pretty much end up having the same effect as me having not voted at all since it won't matter in the end.

The only thing that changes is that if the person in power gets too tyrannical or violates international law, you could correctly say that you do not support them or the system they are part of; which is not something you can do after having voted this term.

For more info see the links on #57 concerning "Overt Consent" and the quote from the Declaration of Independence.

then follow the part of the declaration that says overthrow or remove the government.

and that is stupid logic. it really is and that is why our government is the way it is now. just take half a second to think about that. how many people on this site daily say im just voting against someone not for someone. thats just a microcosm of this country. the average funnyjunker is likely 15-30 which just so happens to be the age group with the lowest rate of votes.

and i can turn your retarded argument around. because you refuse to take action and make your voice heard you are consenting to be ruled. you arent opposing them are you? but to you me voting for a third party because thats who i truly beleive should be president im giving full consent to the retard who actively caused the deaths of multiple americans? how does that make any sense to you

you just really come off as those sovereign citizen dumbshits who say they dont consent to being arrested. if you want change you take action. if you accept things the way they are then you do nothing
#130 - megadud (05/17/2016) [-]
Also about wanting change, why should we want change if we could just be happy individually?
It's a choice that is left up to people, don't try and force others with all your social justice indoctrination bullcrap you learned from your high school teachers. Please, I'm a college graduate in pre-law, I know what is good for me by now. Go on wishing for change, wishing for one political leader to transform this world using magical fairy dust, wishing that the world can change to suit your personal needs and hand you a free check for not being rich. Go ahead, some of us know how to make change happen for ourselves.
Or maybe you could grow up a bit.
User avatar
#131 - sketchE (05/17/2016) [-]
you say your pre law yet you dont seem to understand that the declaration of indipendende has nothing to do with our laws. overt consent comes from the united nations.

im a college graduate with a degree in criminal justice and an army commision. i dont know where you got from anything i said that i think we need more handouts, seeing as im talking about pulling away from the two party system, but if i need to pay attention you need to

the reason you sound like a sovereign citizen idiot is because your saying you arent voting because you dont like the two choices and by not voting for anyone you arent giving consent to be ruled. is there anything im not getting there?
#132 - megadud (05/17/2016) [-]
>Overt Consent comes from the United Nations
>Declaration of Independence has nothing to do with our laws
Both wrong. These things have nothing to do with our laws except for the small fact that the philosophical principle of consent of the governed was mentioned by Locke and pretty much gave birth to what Democracy is. It justifies pretty much how our government works.

From Locke on Social Order.
"According to Locke all legitimate political power derives solely from the consent of the governed to entrust their "lives, liberties, and possessions" to the oversight of the community as a whole, as expressed in the majority of its legislative body. (2nd Treatise §171) The commonwealth as a whole, then, is dissolved (and a new one formed) whenever there is a fundamental change in the membership of the legislature. (2nd Treatise §220)"

"The most likely cause of such a revolution, Locke supposed, would be abuse of power by the government itself: when the society unduly interferes with the property interests of the citizens, they are bound to protect themselves by withdrawing their consent. (2nd Treatise §222) When great mistakes are made in the governance of a commonwealth, only rebellion holds any promise of the restoration of fundamental rights. (2nd Treatise §225 ) Who is to be the judge of whether or not this has actually occurred? Only the people can decide, Locke maintained, since the very existence of the civil order depends upon their consent."

So there is the reasoning, and this is what you were missing. It's simply a citizen's choice to withdraw their consent temporarily. Go get a tattoo Hillary or Trump since you apparently seem so excited about these embarrassments of "choices". (Well maybe Trump is a little bit okay)

claims philosophies are laws
says the decleration of indipendence gave birth to democracy
ignores me supporting third parties the entire time

you sure are a smart one for being prelaw
#134 - megadud (05/18/2016) [-]
Locke's ideals are in no way laws, laws are laws. Social Contract theory matters though because they are the reasonings used behind the legal system we have. Our system had to come from somewhere. You asked me on what you not getting, and I provided it. Nowhere did I make a claim like the one you're saying, although even if they're not laws, they still matter especially when the government or the way things are aren't in your favor or protection.

You're missing the point if you think more options is what we need. You supporting other parties don't mean shit in front of what matters. What matters is being represented, not having more options.
User avatar
#135 - sketchE (05/18/2016) [-]
options help that. theres never going to be a carbon copy of me running for political office. but if i can find someone closer to my views then i will be represented. you call people sheep because theyre trying to make the system work because it can work. but theres too many people who fall into the vote for who has the best chance and people like you who think that not voting is the logical option.

they are going to govern you. full stop. it doesnt matter if you vote or not. you cant just sit there and say if you dont support either of the big two (your first comment) then the only logical thing is to not vote. it doesnt matter if you dont vote. you still have to follow the laws they put in place. you still have to pay the taxes that pay their salary. so why not try and make a change and put someone you feel will do the best
#136 - megadud (05/19/2016) [-]
"so why not try and make a change and put someone you feel will do the best" make a change... ha that's cute. If you think you're going to bring positive change by filling in a ballot on a piece of paper and trusting in the system in place that tells you to do it, you're being unrealistic. The part you said about the carbon copy of someone running for office was particularly disturbing to me: Do you mean we are supposed to vote for someone who thinks the same way we do? You realize this means imposing your personal views and preferences on every American, right? You really think the political system should be decided in this way? How about voting for someone with positive virtues and character rather than our own subjective interests and ideals? You're pretty much making it seem like we should vote someone who promises to give us jobs or lessen taxes yet may violate people's basic rights, lie and extort, or get us in serious trouble in the international arena. That's not a sound policy for four years. Now imagine if 99% of voters voted with their own subjective interests at heart, how effective is this voting system looking for us now?

Another problem with this is that you can't just trust another individual to take care of your needs, maybe a few needs for select groups who have the government's balls by the hand, or protecting and enforcing the needs/security of the state, but that's about it. In the end of the day, we are the only people responsible for ourselves, and the change we want to see. How about starting with being the change we want to see at a smaller, more local level rather than hoping for one person in an office boss around the people around him to do it? This is the more realistic alternative.
Quite frankly, the big options are an embarrassment. I'd deem them an embarrassment to this country. If you think they'd do a good job, good for you, but other nations are looking at our leaders and their actions and scrutinizing them.
Realistically speaking, I wouldn't give two shits about who gets elected. I would adapt to whatever bullshit the political system is trying to do and adapt to it while being the positive change I want to see in the people whose lives I can make a difference in; no matter where I live.
User avatar
#137 - sketchE (05/19/2016) [-]
so youre telling me that if you did vote you would vote for someone who has opposing views to you? i have my views and opinions and im going to vote for the person who supports those most. and so will everyone else. if you can prove me wrong about something with pure facts and not speculation which is impossible when looking at the future then you will change my opinion and i will vote for someone who fits those new views. thats what everyone could do. if that happened politicians would actually do their jobs right because if they did something that was not in favor of the people who voted for him they would vote for someone else.

the system is fine its the people fucking it up. apathy isnt going to make this country better. sitting and saying fuck everyone else im going to take care of the people around me isnt helping anyone
#138 - megadud (05/19/2016) [-]
Looking at the person's character and virtues doesn't mean voting for someone with opposing views to you (I don't know where you got that), it means looking at how much integrity the person has when it has mattered in the past, not by whatever promises they may or may not end up doing. I think I specifically said "How about voting for someone with positive virtues and character rather than our own subjective interests and ideals" in there somewhere...

What I am encouraging is not people being apathetic or sitting around (I don't know where you got that either). Quite the opposite, really. I mentioned being the positive change you want to be in the people around you or close to you. Being an example of good virtues and honesty is a start. Teaching people, encouraging debate, and paying attention to others is another start.
User avatar
#139 - sketchE (05/19/2016) [-]
bernie sanders has a long track record and over all seems alike a good person. i very much disagree with his views. i dont want anything he wants to put in place. im not going to vote for him because he does not represent the change i want to see

im getting that from your opinion that people who actually go out and vote because thats the change they want to see (we have a 60% voter turnout and half of the people who vote vote for who they think will win not who they agree with most) are sheeple. i encourage debate and education and i encourage taking action.

you are telling people voting is the illogical thing to do. to not care about whos making the laws and just adapt to what happens. why not try to do something about it. why not make your voice heard.
#140 - megadud (05/19/2016) [-]
If it's the sheeple word that's a problem then maybe I admit I should've said being "under an illusion" or "being deceived". I agree about Sanders as well, and he does seem to be in a little better place from virtues and experience. One big reason I'm not voting for him is because it just doesn't seem like the guy is being realistic or knows how money works. This is why I wouldn't vote for him, other than the fact that I also do not agree with him, and that's okay.

Also about the use of the word illogical, I didn't say that voting is illogical all the time, only during the times when a person wouldn't be happy with the candidates that have a shot at the office. There was certainly a time when I would've seen it as my duty to vote, and that was before the political scene became what it is now. The presidential debates today have just become a joke to appeal to a wider array of people obsessed with media. And this is another issue I have with the whole voting discourse you're advocating. Wanting to increase voter turnout has kind of led to the pattern where politics are made more entertaining instead of leaving it to the educated people. Maybe this is a good thing, maybe its bad overall. Maybe it's the candidates that are silly, and it is not us, maybe it's making us look bad in the international scope. What we do now is that there's social media now and things are changing, I am not here to argue that issue. My point is that I just don't feel compelled to vote the way things are in their present state.

A grown person should explore different things that will make him/her happy. By my age, I already know that dealing in a positive way with the people around me, getting things that I want, and helping people around me is one way for me to feel happy and fulfilled. Different things work for different people. For others, activism for their community or group or whatever seems to get their socks off, and good for them. I for one though, know that happiness is my own responsibility instead of others making decisions for me or giving me access to things. Those things are just challenges if they're set against me by higher authorities or people in power, but I have lived long enough to know that my happiness comes from myself alone, and my perspective on how I'll deal with the challenges in life.

**megadud used "*roll picture*"**
**megadud rolled image**It comes off that way to you because you don't understand a lick of what I said of what the Declaration of Independence is setting out to describe.
This is a national document, and you think it is some crazy anarchist propaganda, and somehow you write me off as one of those sovereign citizen people. Dude, calm the fuck down and pay attention for a bit.
The declaration is in no way telling you to overthrow your government. It is explaining where power comes from, which is from the consent of many people. Without that, there is no power.
I swear, you are either some angry troll who twists everything they see and makes assumptions about things they don't know, or you are just plain retarded.

your statement of "many islamic countries" isnt exactly true. There is more nuance to the topic then you allow. There are only a small handful of Muslim countries that fuklly apply sharia all around. There are a majority of Muslim dominated countries that have specific applications of Sharia. And some countries allow the Relgious observer to choose whether they are tried by their religious text, or by their governments laws. and there are some muslim countries that dont apply sharia at all.

Oh most certainly he's got a great movement skill, run in deal a crap ton of damage, maybe a kill or two, and waltz out and heal up. I kinda wish his teleport wasn't shit though.

Yeah, but to effectively use Reaper you have to be at a pretty specific range or you're doing suboptimal damage with his normal attack,

i havent played actual matches yet but i tried him and tracer because i really need some way of moving faster and i like their kits. just from my experience with him getting in the face of someone works pretty well

Apollo Crews is best known from Dragon Gate; the second largest promotion in Japan

He's also known for working a lot of American dates at PWG which is the indie wrestling hodgepodge. If you're an inspiring indie success who is relatively obscure come over here and test your might

Apollo no sells a lot and is best known for being stiff as **** in his matches

Hey, you mod skyrim? You mod well? You mod for me?

I was looking to commission (that means I will pay for your sexual services) someone to do a small mod for me and was going to consult nexus when I had the funds on hand after AoU but hey if you are my man I would rather chat you up here then dick around with people on the forums. :U

Hollah if interested. Thanks x

Single NPC Follower with a few basic needs. No added audio or animations needed. It's a lot of programming, and as an artist I can make and sculpt dicks; I can't program for ****.

If that sounds cool to you I can send you a brief and talk cash with you. Thanks x
