depending on your source california as a state is currently either 26 billion or 400 billion in debt and a good half the bills passed expand programs without adding ways to increase revenue. the two dollar addition to the cigarette tax wont make a dent

And then you get about 7 save scums in and you mock the aliens "I know where you are, and I'll slaughter all of you flawlessly in 6 save scums".

Honestly, for all the faffing about done over Ubisoft's, EA, and Blizzard's failures Activision|Blizzard owns Infinity Ward, which is where the cuckfucks get their Cawwadootay. , you don't really hear all that much about CDPR.
At least, I don't. But then again CDPR doesn't go around clucking up nonsense, and making game fuels and shit.

Image related: Their fucking references are on fleek.

but to the main point its just they arent advertised as much. damn near every discussion i come into about rpgs witcher 3 is brought up. ive heard of people not heavily into rpgs play witcher 3 so cdpr is doing fine. they also dont crank out near as many games as other companies so theres going to be less talk

I don't know about Dragon quest since I haven't played any dragon quest games but Final fantasy type 0, crystal chronicles, and final fantasy 1-9 all have a fairly large number of side objectives and a pretty big open world to explore. Same goes for Star ocean 1 and 2 (I can't speak for 3 and four since I haven't played those yet). Also the kingdom hearts series, and Deus EX human revolution both have an ok amount of open objectives and the Just cause series falls under the sandbox category for games and is incredibly open.

ive played some of the older final fantasy games and unless you count grinding as stuff to do there was really nothing else to do in those games

I haven't played Dragon quest games but that's all games, even in Bethesda's games there usually only one person that you can talk to in order to advance the plot you just got a bunch of shit to do on the side.

theres just nothing much else to do. most square enix games are very linear story based rpgs. the have maybe one or two small things to kill time like monster arenas or casinos but there arent side quests in a lot of cases.
