as an alaskan im gonna defend palin. something thats gone wrong with the US is presidents and leaders have been made into celebrities and people look at them as that. if they give off a smart intelligent image they are the best leader ever. palin made alaska so much money we were able to give 700,000 people 3000 dollars

well that's different then, my issue is I know a lot of people from my highschool who were gonna be cops, they were twitchy fuckin inbred hicks with a hell of a victim complex and little man syndrome, and my grandfather says the same, my mother too

neither of those links really paint wilson as a racist or someone who is a super authoritarian police officer. i watched amazing acts of science the other day and they had someone filming people and taking notes. random ass people. most of them freaked out told the person to leave them alone and stop filming. its human nature to not like being recorded.

the kkk one is just humerous to me. just the description for the author doesnt sound like the most unbiased guy. and a lot of what im finding about the site is hoax and satire things. not saying it is just saying im not sure how much i trust it. but what it says doesnt implicate darren wilson as a kkk member just that people who supported him were. and honestly you kind of expect that. i mean the black panthers who are the kkk of black people jumped in on the opposite side
User avatar #130 - renespar (06/28/2015) [-]
well, this is what I get for half of an arguement I used to have bookmarked to shut my racist ass grandfather up when I mentioned the ties missouri PD have with the KKK and he said, literally every time "and santa claus is real" I'm probably one that could be called super liberal, but in my defense, if more knew my grandfather, there would be more
User avatar #131 - sketchE (06/28/2015) [-]
my granpas racist but hes kinda shill about it. im not saying there werent some racists but nothing really implicates wilson as one
User avatar #133 - renespar (06/28/2015) [-]
yeah, like I said, I used to have way more sources, but then I lost them, and he's not like constantly going on about it, but he's legit a living strawman, like anything you see liberal political cartoons say about conservatives, he exemplifies them all like his life depends on it, he talked about wanting mitt romney in office because he's a business man, therefore can make money, and when I called Sarah Palin a fucking idiot and a loon he called me, someone who's personally outsmarted him hundreds of times annually, an idiot
User avatar #114 - renespar (06/28/2015) [-]
www.huffingtonpost.com/2014/11/17/darren-wilson-lock-your-ass_n_6170746.html this isn't racially biased as far as I can tell, but a clear sign Wilson doesn't care about the law pertaining to his limits, I'm still looking for the source I read months ago, but it's a pain inn the ass since a lot of sites say about the same thing, and the story is rather old now

I can see where you are coming from but from the artists standpoint (Warning: artistic douche levels rising, proceed with caution) The leaves are a purple-red color, that of cherry trees that bear fruit. Ahri's design is clearly japanese and Japan is known for it's cherry trees so I believe the artist wanted to make some splash art that was a bit darker but still made sense with her design/lore. I don't see it as too edgy.

"In European nations, marriage was traditionally considered a civil institution. Around 5AD great Christian theologians such as Augustine wrote about marriage and the Christian Church started taking an interest in the ceremony."

en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Marriage#History_of_marriage
"From the early Christian era (30 to 325 CE), marriage was thought of as primarily a private matter, with no uniform religious or other ceremony being required."
Yeah wikipedia, deal with it

www.huffingtonpost.com/2014/01/20/historical-marriage-definitions_n_4589763.html
"In 1563, the Catholic Church decreed that marriage was a sacred ritual to be performed in a church. They talked about doing this a few centuries earlier, Coontz says, but it would have rendered a lot of marriages invalid, because no one got married in a church."

www.bbc.com/news/magazine-17351133
"For the Anglo-Saxons and Britain's early tribal groups, marriage was all about relationships - just not in the modern sense. The Anglo-Saxons saw marriage as a strategic tool to establish diplomatic and trade ties"
"As early as the 12th Century, Roman Catholic theologians and writers referred to marriage as a sacrament, a sacred ceremony tied to experiencing God's presence. However, it wasn't until the Council of Trent in 1563 that marriage was officially deemed one of the seven sacraments, says Elizabeth Davies, of the Catholic Bishops' Conference of England and Wales."

"since its inception marriage has been a religious institution"
No no no no no

Marriage is not inherently religious. That's what the christians want you to believe, so they can steal the term.

People have been getting married for centuries before christians every existed, and they've done so with or without rituals, ceremonies and all that shit. Some cultures had religious marriage, while others didn't.

Stop perpetuating this false idea, you fucklord.
User avatar #107 - sketchE (06/27/2015) [-]
so when two clans came together before recorded history they didnt consult their gods give praises to them or anything. thats what youre trying to tell me. they didnt have any ceremonies. they just walked up grabbed a woman and said you wife now right? ancient civilizations were super deeply religious. hamurabis code the first known laws have terms for marriage and divorce. and on the tablet its stated the laws were made because of a god. therefore it can be determined that as long as there have been rules for marriage they have been dictated by religion. and thats from 1792 BCE

Joining in the circlejerk here guys.

I'm a straight man and want to get married some day, but I'd like religion to play no part of it. As far as I'm concerned, the government will officially recognise us as a married couple and we'll have a small ceremony to celebrate. To me, that'll be the only experience of marriage I ever need, and I see absolutely no reason why gay couples shouldn't be allowed to do the same.
